    How about a system that just concentrates on games? Get rid of all these apps and crap, xbox is a gaming system we have roku and amazon fire for our movie and music apps. THe less crap running imo, will make a better gaming system.

    Whats this lot worth?

    No the games great, ive given up with the xbox since microshaft lost my gamertag and gamer score in there system on friday night.

    OP.. do us a favor.... go to your friends list.... see what their current activities are.. I bet you more than 75% of your friends who are online are either in Netflix Hulu TV Youtube Amazon rather than in a game... so this "game" thing you speak of is
    a joke...

    and BTW... how does playing not using Netflix make a game better..?? do explain this one to me

    Do you use all your TV channels or all the radio stations on your radio? Those seem to work fine for people watching TV and listening to music. They just pick what they want and go. You can pretty well do the same with a Xbox One. Why limit the options for
    others just because you don't want it?

    i Only use my XO for gaming and it works fine, did try and use netflix once but my all in one entertainment system doesnt like to give me sound.

    Still plays games great tho.

    It's an entertainment console..... large focus on gaming but also designed to multi task. If MS would offer some sort of TV programing package that would be the bee's knee's!

    Apps are here to stay i'm afraid too much money to be made from them. You can blame Apple for that. But Netflix as become just as big as gaming now, don't think things will change.

    Some of the netflix originals and even the amazon originals are fantastic shows... House of cards was by far one of the best shows I have ever seen

    My Xbox One is a pure gaming machine although i did just figure out what Twitch was and watch gameplay videos on it but again it's gaming related. If you don't care for apps than simply ignore them as i haven't tried 95% of them and are not a bother to me.

    Games have always been Programs or Applications. Apps is just Shorthand for applications and just became used more due to mobiles and "Apps"

    So non of these added media apps actually afffect the Xboxone's ability to play games. Because they are apps themselves.

    but Rippen according to the OP if XB did not have Netflix as an option to DL and use, all my games would be 4K @120 FPS
