Xbox One Gamepad issues in Windows 10 and Steam Link

First of all, I apologize if this is covered in another post, I was unable to find it.

I just bought myself a Chat pad for Xbox One Controller that I only use on my PC, running latest build of Windows 10.

It works fine as long as the controller is connected with the cable.

However, it does not work at all if I pair the controller via bluetooth.

As a matter of fact, the Xbox One App doesn't even recognize that I have a controller connected via bluetooth anymore.

Am I missing something?

I have uninstalled the controller, I have removed it from everywhere I can find and re-paired it. and same issue.

I ultimately want to be able to use the chatpad with the controller while playing games via steam link in the bedroom.

Also, even though the app doesn't recognize the controller, it works paired via bluetooth and with Steam link.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated at this point.

will the XBOX ONE S gamepad be able to connect and play to other devices other than Windows 10? For example will it be able to play on Steam Link or Android devices?

Ok, so, first things first I updated the gamepad via the XBOX accessories app on Windows 10. This got me to the point of being able to use it with my Android TV (for all that matters it's a Sony W805c). However I played with it a bit with the Moonlight app
to stream a couple of games (Borderlands and Arkham Origins) and the inputs are messed up. I suppose the bugs are caused by the lack of proper drivers.

Secondly, I don't do something special in order to pair it with Steam Link. I go to the Bluetooth option in Steam Link, I press the sync button on XBOX ONE S gamepad, the Steam Link sees it as "XBOX wireless controller" and they pair. However, even after
the gamepad's update nothing works. Interestingly, I tried to connect the gamepad with the micro-USB cable to Steam Link and it does not work even on that instance. The home button is blinking and the buttons do not work.

Just to clarify, does your PC not detect your Xbox One controller while the chat pad is connected or has it stopped detecting it completely? If it's only the chat pad, do you possibly have a friend with a chat pad you can test to see if there's any change?

To answer your question:

The controller works fine, just the Chat pad does not work.

HOWEVER, I discovered after making this post that neither the chat pad nor the stereo audio adapter works with Windows via Bluetooth.

Unless I am misunderstanding everything I am reading, it will work either with a cable, or with the wireless USB "dongle", but not Bluetooth.

So my new question is, can anyone verify that the Chat pad will, in fact, work with the
Wireless USB "dongle":

Specifically through Steam Link is what I am wondering but also just Windows 10.

Thanks for clarifying and glad you were able to find your answer. Unfortunately I haven't tested the USB dongle with my Steam Link so I wouldn't have the answer to that. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to Valve in regards to that. If you have any other

My apologies work has been murder. If anyone else ever has this question, the Wireless Dongle does in fact work with Steam Link. I use it regularly. Some little issues like it needs to be resynched on my computer from time to time, but I think I have tracked
that down tot he fact that I use my Bluetooth Xbox one controller as well and it gets confused.
