xbox one game store regions

hi I have family currently living abroad to be specific they live in Trinidad, my nephews birthday is coming up & I wanted to buy him a game from the xbox store for his birthday, can anybody tell me which xbox game store region covers Trinidad?

I set my region on the laptop as Trinidad but when I went to purchase the cheapest possible game I could find (as a test purchase) I was redirected to the game store that deals with the U.S. (I went back & checked & seems the Trinidad site didn't seem to
cover games & instead redirects you to the U.S. game store) anyway I went to purchase game as a gift & got message saying "Your gift will be sent as a digital code that your recipient can redeem in United States only"

so does the xbox store for the united states cover Trinidad if not can somebody say which of the regions would I need to log into?

Question about Region Locked Console.

Every Xbox one is region free. And any game from any store will play on the Xbox one.

pretty sure Games are region free for Xbox. Not all apps though. For example you could get different content and prices accross different regions for the Xbox Store app or Netflix for example.

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. The reason the store points you back is because of your IP address. Changing the region won't help. Also, although Xbox One games are pretty much region free digital game gifting is only for the same region you've
purchased it from. I would recommend either sending your nephew the money to purchase a digital gift card or the game in his region or contact support to see if they can provide a region free code for the game.

I follow what your saying about being redirected back to the U.S. site because of my ip address but I live in the U.K. not the U.S.

as far as I can figure out so long as I can purchase the game as a gift from the region that he lives in then he can use it as I got this message from the U.S. xbox store "Your gift will be sent as a digital code that your recipient can redeem in United
States only" but I don't know if Trinidad & Tobago is covered by the xbox store for the U.S.

 

You would have to physically be in Trinidad in order to gift a code through Xbox and have it go to the correct region. With region locked content, the only way to properly purchase it is if your account region matches your physical location. You would want
to try looking for a retail website that you can purchase code for Trinidad from, or as onyx stated, send him money directly.

 

that's disappointing, ive sent him money twice before to buy things when he used his xbox 360 2nd time he got an opened envelope both card & money were taken & ive sent him physical copies of games that where tracked & signed for 50% of the time they arrive
with games missing or other items from the parcels missing (post office there aint very honest at times) so its either digital code that will work there or nothing.
