    XBOX ONE GAME DVR SUGGESTION

    Hello all,

Here, I would like to make a suggestion that I believe would greatly improve the user friendliness of the Xbox One's game DVR.

    So, here goes:

Many times, I have been playing games such as Rainbow 6 Siege, and I have had something incredible happen while I was playing. Have you ever had the misfortune of having your DVR settings only record 30 seconds, when that amazing clip lasted longer than
that time? My suggestion to improve the Game DVR, is to add a long press X option. As well as maintaining the "press x to record" and "press y to save screenshot" options. After double tapping the Home button, this option would implement a prompt that will
ask you how much time of gameplay, up to that point, that you want to be recorded. I believe that this would help tremendously, rather than worrying about losing clips because your DVR settings weren't set long enough, or having to download your 5 minute clip
from an external source, and editing the clip to just the 15 seconds that were worth recording. I look forward to feedback and other ideas,

    ~

    :)

    Suggestion for Game DVR

You do not need to save them per say for them to be uploaded to the cloud. All of the auto records and record thats and DVR recordings are auto uploaded. Only thing that remains on your system is the 5 minute loop, Hence the reason why you can access those
    from Smartglass or online.

    @Enen.

A 15 minute clip of high quality 1080P 60FPS raw un-compressed video capture will use gigs of storage, not Mbs. Unless you have a superior internet, to compress, upload and push your file to the cloud will take hours for a single clip, not the 30 seconds
    it does now.

Like It has been said. If you want to capture real video at a high standard... buy a capture device, a high end PC with TBs of storage and a very high end graphics card and get the best internet you can obtain.

I dabbled in recording. I have a Avermedia HDMI Pcie card on my old PC and to even record at half the max I could, a 5 minute file would take up 500Mbs of room.. that is HALF the quality. To convert it and upload it on my (at the time) 45/30 Fios speed took
1.5 hours. Trust me.. you do not want anything longer (besides nobody wants to watch 15 minutes of quick scoping on MW). I am sure for tose that record on quality gear, they can attest to what it takes.

What XB1 is bare minumum.. and TBH, that is all we need

all clips will be stored locally, the os does not use over 100GB of the hdd by it's self, they will have a set cache of like 5 - 10GB for the recording, if you save them then they store on the cloud I think, the others will auto delete at certain times,
especially if you use dvr a lot and don't save.

the files are NOT SAVED ON YOUR HARD DRIVE... let me repeat this... they are NOT on your HDD.. they are saved in a 5 minute loop in a temp cache then when directed, they are uploaded to the cloud. That cache deletes itself continuously for 5 minutes or when
    the game is turned off.

@CH33 if your upload speed is that bad, then trust me, you do not want to record more than 5 minutes, let alone try to publish anything... you just do not have the specs for it.
