Xbox One game discs not loading/working after playing Xbox 360 games on disc

The compatibility for discs and games only works backwards, not forwards. Xbox One discs can be played on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 discs (being the older console) can be played on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, Xbox discs (being the oldest console) can be
played on all three consoles. The Xbox One is currently the newest console that is out, and therefore, its games only works on its system.

Past that, you'll have to get the right disc to play on the Xbox 360... it should say Xbox 360 on the case and the disc for the game.

I have old games lots disc Xbox 360 keep … I try load disc old game Xbox 360 to Xbox one X no work load .. I hate again buy store each £15.99p unfair. I no happy Store are robber money need more games old again buy sTOp

I've been having trouble with xbox 360 discs. Xbox One discs work. I can immediately eject the Xbox One disc and put in an xbox 360 disc. It won't load and never gives an error message. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with the backwards compatibility servers because sometimes my xbox 360 digital games take awhile to load or every once in awhile I get a message saying Something Went Wrong. Xbox One digital games don't seem to have this issue. My discs are clean (I just played some of the xbox 360 discs during the last 10,000 gamerscore challenge lol) I've reset and unplugged my console. Cleared persistent storage, I haven't checked NAT type. I guess it is open because I can use xbox live.

Actually, loading of the Blu-ray app makes perfect sense, once you understand how Xbox 360 DVD discs were made.

As a copy protection feature, all Xbox 360 discs have two sections were the data is stored. The first section, near the centre of the disc is a small video file. This tiny video will play on all DVD players or PC DVD applications if you put an Xbox 360
disc into one of these devices other than Xbox 360. The second section (which is encrypted) contains the game data.

When you insert an Xbox 360 game for the first time into the Xbox One, it will attempt to read the data section to see what game is there. Once it knows what the game is, it will download the repackaged BC version of the game. The console will ask you
to download an update, although in the case of BC 360 games, the 'update' is actually the game.

If your console can't read the game data section, either because the game disc is damaged, or dirty, it may only read the first section of the disc, displaying the "To Play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 Console"
message. And to do this, it loads the Blu-ray player application - which can also play DVD movie discs.

If other Xbox 360 BC game discs work fine on your console, but it can't read this one, then there is probably nothing wrong with the drive, there must be an issue with the disc itself.

Contrary to what you've been told on here, you don't necessarily need the latest console update, nor do you need to power cycle the console. Backwards compatibility on Xbox One works very differently to the way it
worked on the Xbox 360 with original Xbox game discs. But you do need a connection to Xbox Live, otherwise you can't download the game.

I know this was an overly technical response, but in short, your console can't determine that the disc you inserted is Ninja Gaiden 2, so it shows said error. Most likely because your disc is otherwise unreadable.
