    Xbox one game at a time


    Hello,

    I got an Xbox one for my son a couple years ago and since making a child account is often a pain, I just logged into my account and let him play on that. I also got an Gold+Gamepass membership.

    Recently I got a Xbox Series X. I moved my kids Xbox into his room and put the new one in the living room. We soon learned we could only play one game at a time even when using discs.

    So I made a child account and logged into that on his Xbox. I hoped we could both play games then but no. Again even when using discs.

    So what was the point in making him his own account? What do I need to do to make it so we can play games at the same time? Why can’t we play disc games at the same time (online and gamepass games I understand, but not being able to play discs is ridiculous)

    Please let me know what I can do to make it so both me and my son can play our games?

    Installation times for xbox one games

    I agree. Just got an Xbox one and this (and other things) is making me regret my purchase. My internet is on the slower side so I get about a max 1gb/hr (provided nothing else is downloading). Nothing worse than putting a disc game in and being told
    it needs to download 6+ gig before I can play. I basically have to wait until the next day.

    And even worse are the digital games. It took me the better part of a week to download AC Unity. Only to have it want to do another 50+gb patch a couple of days after completing. I just gave up on that one.

    Being a long time (since the 80s) PC gamer as well I can tell you this is one of the things that got consumers frustrated with PC gaming when they switched over to consoles. They just want to put in a disc and start playing without any extra steps.

    Hi,

    Are you both using different accounts?

    You can share live and games between two consoles using the 'Home Xbox' feature but you still need separate accounts, only one of which needs an Xbox Live subscription.
