    Xbox one - Game and Gold Sharing


    Hi

    I wanted to check something out before I did something wrong.

    We have two Xbox Ones in the house.

    Child 1 Upstairs

    Child 2 Downstairs

    Dad Account owns Xbox Gold

    Dad has set Child 1 Xbox to be his "Home"

    Child 1 logs on as himself upstairs and can access Xbox Gold

    Child 2 logs on as himself and Dad account downstairs and can access Xbox Gold.

    Q1 - have I over complicated things by putting my account into the mix ?

    Child 1 is about to buy FIFA (which comes with bonus packs etc) but I know these can't be shared between children -

    Q2 - How do I ensure that Child 1 gets the packs but Child 2 gets just the game instance and none of the extras. Do I install it as Dad Account and let Child 1 play first?

    Please help - as this went royally wrong last year so want to make sure Child 1 gets all the ongoing FIFA packs

    You could put both accounts on the Xbox One and share the Live Gold as well as the games belonging to each. Unfortunately you can't merge the purchases of one account with another but the Xbox One does have a share feature.

    You cannot share across consoles. Game sharing/Gold sharing is meant for sharing games on one console.

    You will need two subscriptions. You may also have both profiles signed in on the console that’s designated as ‘Home’, this way, both parties can access the same games.

    However, if someone wants to play on the other console and signs out of the one with gold sharing, they will no longer have access to the benefits of Gold sharing and would require a separate XBL subscription to play.
