Xbox One Frozen While Applying Update

Hey everyone, the title basically says it all here. I turned on my xbox one and saw there was a system update, so I started to download it. Everything went fine and after a little bit it started to apply the update. Its been about an hour the "applying update"
progress bar has been stuck in the same spot. What are my options at this point? I'm weary to power it down/power cycle it because it's mid update. Other than that I really have no other idea what to do. There was no internet issue during the update itself
and I have not had this issue before. Thanks in advance.

Stuck on green start up screen after frozen update

An update froze on me whilst applying. I left it 8ish hours and was still frozen. Turned off console and am now stuck on green start up screen. Help.

Yeah still stuck. I think the console is frozen rather than just the progress bar not moving, but I can't be sure.

 

I think you might be able to download an offline update for USB if this screws up the console.

 

So because the console was frozen for roughly 2 hours, I had no choice but to power down and restart. At the first restart I got only a black screen, so I did a power cycle as a last hope. Sadly, I was met with the green loading screen at start up and that
seems to be a dead end for me. Have to say I'm very disappointed that a product would completely fail after only a year and a half of usage maybe two or three times a week.

 

Someone help me.I have the same issue.my Xbox got stuck on applying update. Even with the offline dignotics tool.

 

Bonzi . I'm afraid that your in the same boat as me and your Xbox one is bricked and don't expect any help from the minions at Microsoft absolutely disgusting the way we have been treated

 

I just got my Xbox One started again after experiencing this same green loading screen which freezes and then eventually turns black. I used the offline diagnostic tool. I followed the instructions and I experienced a "freeze" when the update went to install.
This freeze, at approx. 75% of the way across the green progress bar, did eventually end with the console off. However, it was not possible to start the console after the offline "update". I then used the smaller "Restore Factory Defaults" file, a much smaller
file, also available at the bottom of the list of downloads. The first time I tried to use the Restore file I got an error message. It may have been the second, third, or fourth time I tried, I finally got the console to accept the Restart file.

It was persistence and a very powerful desire to solve this at no additional expense that got me back up and running. I wouldn't expect this sort of stubbornness from the average console buyer.

 

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet...?

On Saturday I bought Forza Horizon 2 and put my Xbox online for the first time in ages.

It prompted me to download the update. After doing so it stood stuck on the "applying update" screen for over an hour. So I went to work and left the system running. When I got home and turned it on, the system was stuck on the green loading screen.

Sunday morning I googled Everything in the world and figured out the steps for USB diagnosistic tool.

I tried them all perfectly and they all stopped on the same spot: the "Applying Update" screen.

So I decided to just factory reset the whole system. Guess what? That doesn't work either.

Called customer service and they told me it was faulty hardware. But its not. It was the update.

On Friday night alone I played Devil May Cry and Mortal Kombat X all night perfectly.

On Saturday afternoon I played Forza for two whole hours with absolutely no problems until I tried to go online to buy a car pack and was prompted to update.

This is crap. With everything I've been reading online, it really does seem like Microsoft is extorting us.

And is anyone even monitoring these forums. It seems like they just press a button and give everyone the same response ( Mr. Quimby ) just like customer service reads off the script. Everytime i call, someone new tells me the EXACT same line: " I understand
how you are feeling. I too feel frustrated when this happens. Lets see what we can do to help:... you know what would help? stop repeating the same lines. Let me speak to someone in charge who knows what they are talking about. Because as much as anyone wants
me to believe that i broke my own Xbox One, i didn't. All i did was apply a mandatory update that i was forced to download. This isn't good business, and i wholeheartedly wish i would have purchased a Playstation 4 when i had the chance.

Is there anyone real we can talk to?

Maybe a number we can call to talk to a real person?

Its obvious the three of you are acting like forum members to seem "helpful". But in fact what you are doing is frustrating people looking for much needed help to a problem that many loyal Xbox owners are having.

The April update obviously has flaws that has ruined consoles.

Pretending to be helpful until people give in to your request to "send it in for repairs" is

Instead of pressing that little button that repeats the same phrase your bosses wants you to feed us, you need to contact someone, and by someone I mean an actual human, and report how many consoles are being destroyed by this mandatory update.

Enough is enough. If you spend so much time here then you are aware of how many people need actual help. Make it happen."

We need to just face it. Microsoft isnt gonna help. Ill be honest with you fellas... I wont buy another xbox product. Im just gonna save up for a Playstation. They win this round I guess.

 

SAME EXACT PROBLEM. First time they ask me to

Use a different HDMI cord?

Try a different TV?

Start and stop the Xbox every way imaginable?

Try a different power outlet?

Finally I get off the phone realizing this is going no where!

Summer did not know what she was talking about and yet tells me to send it in for repairs...

Then I find a "solution" and buy a USB and get the update and everything. (Still trying to stay loyal to Xbox and giving them the benefit of the doubt)

Well guess what it freezes at 75% every time!

I have been loyal through xbox live not working, servers crashing, games and movies I bought being deleted, them banning my old account and yet have put so much money into their products but when they break it I still pay the consequences every time!

MICROSOFT PLEASE DO YOUR JOB AND FIX WHAT YOU BROKE! ALSO SHOW SOME ACTUAL CONCERN FOR YOUR FANS/CUSTOMERS. IF YOU DON'T XBOX WILL BE OWNED BY SONY!

 

Wow I have the exact same problem. Watching TV everything is fine. Kids say Dad put in a DVD, it starts some update, or syncing, on the home page. Then froze, power cycle, green to black to home. I get the ms_resource_display message where it used to say
Blu Ray but freezes right away. Then green to black, and now only Green. It's just amazing. What happened to "Made this one to last 10 years". I just want you to make one that actually works and I don't have to call customer service and say WTF? All the time.
