Xbox One froze whilst updating today

Hi,

My xbox has froze whilst doing an update at 66% of the way through.

What should I do?

Nevermind, it's back on. All I did was turn off the console, and did the power cycle thing. I booted to the green screen, I waited 5-10 minutes and it went back to the dashboard.

 

I just hard reset my xbox and now it's just staying one the first screen you get taken to when you turn on your xbox. Green screen with xbox one symbol and 3 . . .

So basically its starting up I think but it's just staying on this screen

 

The summer update is stuck at 66% for the last hour. If I turn Xbox off and back on will it brick it?

same here. Xbox was stuck a 66% for HOURS! i tried the hard reset and updating offline via USB and the Xbox is stuck again at 66% again updating with a USB stick!

 

Don't bother trying to download the update to a USB.

Just go straight to Resetting your xbox to factory defaults. Go through everything it tells you to and it should restart itself and start working

 

When I factory restored my xbox I didn't even have to install the update so I think it was actually installed but frozen for some reason

 

Same exact trouble here - stuck on 66% for hours. We did the power down, unplugging the power and then resetting it. It gets stuck on the Xbox one green screen... Looking at resetting to factory defaults. Kind of scared to do this!

 

Thank you, Epiphany Truth, for posting on this problem and for posting what you did to resolve the problem. I went for it and did the reset to factory settings. Here's what worked for us: Unplug the power cord to the console for 30 seconds. Plug back
in. Press & hold the button on left side of console (if you are facing the console), then also press & hold the eject button (continue holding both of these buttons), now press the xbox power button (continue to hold all 3 buttons until the xbox chimes, then
release power button - still hold both the side & eject button until the xbox chimes again - then release all buttons). A black background screen comes up with the option of resetting to factory settings - choose this one. **Then, choose to reset with saving
your apps & games** When it starts up, you have to go through the whole set up (choosing language, time zone, setting up kinect, etc.) but it doesn't take long. Thankfully, all of our information was still there and the update was already done (just like
Epiphany Truth posted). Yay!!!

 

This is ridiculous. My XBOX One was stuck on 66% while applying the online update for hours. I decided to shut it off and cross my fingers. No luck. I got stuck on the loading screen. I have now tried a offline USB update and it is again stuck at 66%. Having
to do a factory reset is not a solution Microsoft. Please don't ignore this issue Microsoft.

 

Hello! I was wondering if everyone's internet connection is good until it got to a certain point of the update. I recommend deleting some storage so the update can have some space on the console. If not you should tweet xbox support or call xbox support
about this issue.
