Xbox one froze on the new release games menu

Sorry to hear it. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug it and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to see if that helps.

I do not get a black screen, I actually get to the game loaded to where you push start button, then the game menu shows up and if his profile is logged in the whole thing freezes. I had him not logged in once while another profile started the game to be
sure it worked, and after waiting to see if it freezes (it didn't) I let him sign in. It froze while trying to sign in.

Tried the steps in the guide you mentioned. Didn't work. Said Since new profile has been signed in it would return me to main menu press A o continue. Once it returned to the main menu it froze again. I should point out one of the steps required us to
disconnect the xbox from the internet, but since this profile is a local one, I fail to see how disconnecting the internet would help. Did it anyway just to be sure...

Any other ideas?

I was previously unable to load the game at all ! xbox kept saying unrecognisable disc. I exchanged this brand new disc for another one and managed to load up to the menu after installing the update however it froze so i had to restart the xbox. Following
several restarts i managed to play one online match then it crashed after the game. 4 restarts later, i managed to play about 10 matches and it crashes again.... this seems to be a common problem.

What worked for me was restarting the game on another save slot. I know this is annoying (to start over), but even on my 2nd playthrough the game froze once at a different stage. A patch should be released soon for this game, there are a lot of reported
issues for it. Don't worry you're not alone

OR, try this:

- Load your game

- Save the game on another save slot

- Return to the menu

- Load the new save slot

- Run down the ramp and keep your fingers crossed

Update: So, I've been able to now get into the menu usually without hassle, but loading a game does not work most of the time, it usually freezes. i tried clearing the cache and it didn't even seem like it actually did it, it opened the progress bar for
a second and then closed out. i tried to run a game off my hard drive and it didn't work, it just froze. Then I tried to run a game off the disc and it froze. So I tried taking out the hard drive and running a game off disc and it seemed to work, but then
it froze at the start menu.
