Xbox One freezing?

Not sure what is going on. I already had to return the Xbox One because the disc driving wasn't reading or playing discs. Before when I use to play games, everything was ok. Then I sucked at Titanfall, Call of Duty so there was no games for me to play. My
son liking those games have no problems with the games.

Now that I am playing Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls, and playing anywhere from 1-5 hours of playing and then watching TV, the Xbox One seems to freeze. At first I thought it was my Satellite box freezing, but nope, it's the Xbox One. I thought maybe it was a
Diablo 3 issue seeing when my son plays on the Xbox One it doesn't happen. Then again, I play longer when I play D3. When this happens, I can't even use the controller. I have to turn the Xbox One off by touching the power button for more than 5 seconds to
shut it off and reboot it. When I played the original Diablo 3 months ago and hours at a time, I never had this issue.

So is anyone else having issues with their Xbox One freezing? Is this a playing Diablo 3 issue for a long time, or is it just playing any game for a long time, or is it just an Xbox One issue after the latest patch got updated?

Not sure how much, if any, postage is though.

 

Given that the issue is only happening to Diablo 3, I recommended getting in contact with the developers to query this issue. You could also try uninstalling and re-installing it again in the meantime - a simple answer, but one that often seems to work in
my experience.

 

Thanks Minimooo, I will try it. If I do this, will I loose my saved games as well? On the 360, I knew how to save my games, on the Xbox One, I don't have a clue on how to do it.

 

Hey Hsoj, have you tried any troubleshooting with your console?

I would suggest clearing the persistent storage

Go to settings---->Disc and Blue ray--->Persistent storage---->Clear persistent storage (X3)

Then perform a hard reset on the console

Turn off console-----> Unplug all the cords connected to the console----> hold down the power button or 30 seconds----> Turn on console

As for transferring your saves, you have to upload your saved files from your 360 to the cloud, and then log in on the xbox one, go top options and export save.

Thanks Spyroman12, I didn't know about persistent storage. I tried it, will see what happens.

As for the saves, I meant if I uninstalled Diablo 3, like was suggested, would I loose my characters? I don't know how to save them so they don't get uninstalled.

 

Oh that. haha, everything is saved to the cloud saved games. So even if you uninstall your games, all you have to do is be signed into your profile, download the game, and everything will still be there. Its actually very convenient in my opinion

 

its funny cause 2 days ago I was on tomb raider def edition for like 5 hrs and nothing happened and then went on d3 for 3 and when I turned ob tv it reset on me. didn't turn off and stay off or freeze on the load up screen. what is happening is it the game
or console? only problem to ever happen to me on this console yet

 

Not just me then where it freezes from timt to time hard reset seems to fix it for me for a while

Just reporting in that I have the exact same issue. Wife and I play Diablo 3 for about 3-4 hours and then watch TV before bed. After about 15-20 mins the TV will freeze and the Xbox hard resets itself. Seems to be an issue with Diablo 3, going to try
the persistent storage fix and see if that does anything.

 

Same here! But for me, it has happened while streaming video on the Amazon app and also while streaming using the ESPN app. Freezes and then shuts down. Sometimes it happens after a few seconds or at other times it's after several minutes. No rhyme or
reason to it. And the console is not running hot so I don't know what the problem is.

Well i have experienced the same Problem however not playing diablo playing Madden 15 it will freeze i hear the crowd still but players are stuck and i cannot do anything then i will press the home button and my xbox will freeze on that home screen and I'm
unable to do anything at all. with my controller so i hard reset and when i unplug everything i restart and then tune into the TV and i will watch TV for a few and then press the home screen ...then boom again I'm stuck theres a swirling thing on the right
where i should see my friends but i don't and i cannot do anything on the xbox but watch the tv still cause its still playing however i cannot resume full screen . i have no idea why this is happening and would love a solution beyond sending my xbox back
to microsoft and being without an xbox one for a few weeks... this is very annoying especially playing a online competitive game and you receive a lost because your console is freezing. ... please a solution anyone.
