Xbox One Freezing Issue

Hello,

I started experiencing an issue last Sunday (April 2nd, 2016) where my Xbox One will freeze the game I am currently in and crash to the home screen, specifically with Black Ops 3. I have already posted on Activision's forums and they have provided one response
in the past 4 days, so I have been researching and troubleshooting myself. Although the freezing is random most of the time, I can make it freeze 100% of the time if I connect to Black Ops 3 online and then select 'Menu' in the game. After hitting the menu
button, it hangs for a few seconds and then makes a weird noise and crashes back to the desktop, or resets the console. This happens with my account and my girlfriends account (we play split-screen, so on the same console) Here is what I have tried:

The following did not work:

1. Power Cycling and standard reset

2. Rented a copy of the game to try another disc - not a disc issue

3. Traded in my Xbox One for a brand new one (wanted a new one anyway, this just forced the hand) - not a hardware issue

4. Tried a wired and wireless connection

5. Removing the local save data and then going into the game

The following worked:

1. Creating a brand new profile - This is what makes me think there is an issue with my cloud save

2. Going offline, resetting the console, opening the game, and then signing in. This worked last night and the freezing stopped, but it has started again this morning. -Another reason it seems like the cloud save has an issue

3. Playing offline - defeats the purpose of multiplayer

Is there anyway someone could remove my cloud save or check and see if something is messed up with my gamertag/account? The other game to freeze was Advanced Warfare, but it is more random (Still only when online though). I appreciate any and all help!
Let me know if there is anymore information I can provide to help troubleshoot.

Fallout 4 Impressions: Mild Spoilers

Most of the time. Other than the game freezing when I was exiting a bldg and a few other minor and infrequent issues, I cant recall any framerate issues.

 

Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round Freezing after 3/10/15 Xbox One Update

Hey all,

Upon release, DOA5LR was having a lot of freezing and launch issues on Xbox One until Team Ninja released an update to patch the online freezing issues, which worked. Now Xbox One released an update and now my DOA5LR is back to the original online freezing
issue, actually worse because I cannot even pull up the online menu or select the "throw down" option without it freezing and making restart the game. Anyone having the same issue or any idea how resolve it? I've reinstalled the game disc 3 times and still
have the same issue.

If you have the game installed on an external hard drive, that could be the issue. I've had the same issue myself and basically the hard drive kept disconnecting. It turned out to be a dodgy cable.

If you want to completely delete your save and cloud save, you can do that by finding the game in "My Games & Apps", pressing the menu button and selecting manage game. In there you can see the game saves. if you select them and choose to delete, it will
ask if you'd like to delete them just from the console, or if you'd also like to delete from the cloud.

 

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am using the internal hard drive so im not sure that would be the problem here. Especially since this xbox is brand new. Its funny because yesterday when there were issues with the xbox live syncing i was
able to play without it freezing and able to access the menu. Now that the sync issues are fixed im back to the freezing problem.

I went to the save data part and removed both local and cloud saves, but the problem persists. I'm not sure of the inner workings for all of this but im curious if the xbox live and activision servers are having trouble syncing my accout. Any chance my
NAT type might be causing an issue? I feel like it used to be Open but now it is displayed as Moderate and occasionally Strict.

xMrHyd3 this isn't a hardware issue of the XOne nor an issue of the cloud. It is very unlikely for both you and your girlfriends accounts to trigger this problem. My suspicion leans to that of the router that the system is connected to.

Lets try resetting the router to the factory settings and ensure that it is correctly assigning IP addresses. Also you may want to consider investing in a tri-band router so that you can have your Xone on a dedicated route onto itself.

 

DeusAeon, thank you for the router suggestion. I did a factory reset on the router (standard comcast xfinity modem/router) and my account seemed to work fine. However, when my girfriend signed into her account it still froze when hitting the menu button
in black ops 3. We loaded the game again and just went straight into a game and were able to play 3 games back to back before it froze again. We didnt check the menu for those 3 games, and when it did freeze it had just put us back to the lobby.

My NAT type did change from moderate to Open after the reset so that is a plus. Any recommendations on configuring the router?
