Xbox One freezes and turns off while using Netflix/YouTube

Recently after updating my console from the November update, my console will shut itself off about 2-3 minutes into any Netflix show or Youtube video. I have called Xbox and they told me to delete some type of storage on my console, I've done a hard reset
on it, and have reinstalled the app. It still does the same thing. Anyone else having this issue? If you did, did you find a solution???

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the app and console. Can you please try heading to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray and click on Clear Persistent Storage 3 times then hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down and finally unplug
everything from the console and let it sit for 5 minutes.

Hopefully that will solve the issue for you.

 

I am having exactly the same issue. I have tried this and also uninstalled and reinstalled Netflix while following the same steps for powering down, etc. Any further help?

Has this issue been resolved? I had my xbox one do the same thing yesterday with both Netflix and YouTube even though it has not done that before. I tried the hard reboot, tried uninstalling and reinstalling and didn't fix it.

 

It sad that after a year all the same streaming issues are still around

 

Same issue and it's funny how these Microsoft responses are less then helpful. They never follow up and they all tell you to try something you've alteady tried except just exchanging the console. Which I mean really? That shouldn't even be a solution .

 

Is there a solution to this problem? I too have been experiencing this with Netflix and YouTube. I figured I'd have a better shot asking here versus wasting time on the phone with a rep..

I've tried every reboot and unplug that has been mentioned...still the same issue persists.

If anyone has found a solution could you please share? Would appreciate the help.

 

Ditto - same problem. Brand new console, just arrived yesterday. I was watching Netflix this evening, and in the middle of the show, perhaps ~35 minutes in, the screen froze momentarily, and then the Xbox One shut down completely.

I have tried clearing persistent storage several times, uninstalling and reinstalling the Netflix app, and power cycling the Xbox and my router (leaving them to sit for 5 minutes, unplugged, between cycles). My console is plugged directly into the wall,
so there is no issue there.

There are tons of threads about this issue across a variety of sites, including this Microsoft-owned site. Many of the threads are at least a year old. Is there any actual solution yet for this rather serious problem for a device that is billed as a multimedia
machine?
