Xbox one forgets gateway IP address

My xbox one can't seem to remember my gateway Ip address on start up. I'm forced to enter 192.168.0.1 for it to connect to live. I use manual settings as I have assigned a static IP to my xbox one with port forwarding.

All other manual settings, including DNS settings are stored fine, only the gateway IP seems to be forgotten everytime I turn off my console. Once I enter the gateway Ip everything works perfectly but its a real pain having to do it manually.

Im on a wired connection, with a netgear DNG100 router, if that helps.

Xbox one forgets gateway IP address

Can you try to reset the xbox network settings and then turn your xbox off fully (hold down the xbox symbol on the xbox for a few seconds). Then turn it back on and make your settings manual again.

if you set it to obtain ip automatically does it work every time ?

check your router and see if it can IP reservations, it should be able to, but then you just put in the Xbox MAC address with what IP you want assigned to it, then set your Xbox to DHCP and the router will assign the same IP every time.

Xbox Live doesn't in any way, assign your Xbox Console with a Public IP... Your ISP gives you the Public WAN IP Address on your modem, that your console detects from your Default Gateway's IP Address with NAT enabled etc...

With NAT turned off & making your Gateway into a Basic Modem, your default gateway IP is your WAN IP Address etc.. (ie. A direct pass-through connection, to the one device you are using..)
