Xbox One Follow Error?

Hello, I am having a weird bug or something. When I unfriend/unfollow somebody they still show up on my followers list but when I go to their account it doesn't say we are friends. Can someone help?

Hello, I have this problem on the Xbox One. The problem is that when I delete people from my friends list they still show up. I have even gone as far as to block them and they still show up. I go to their profile and it says they don't have me added yet
they still show up. It even shows when they get online. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

 

Also, every time they get online the notification pops up saying they get online even though I don't even follow them. This bug isn't a big deal but it does bother me. Please help.

Hey dude,

That is pretty much how it is. A follower is just that, someone who is following your gamertag, kind of like twitter or facebook. They aren't your friend, so won't appear on your friends list, however they can still follow you.

Here is a little explanation I took from an IGN page:

Followers

New to the Xbox One is the ability to Follow certain users without becoming Friends with them, so celebrities, athletes, musicians and the like who are on Xbox Live can now be only a click away.

This is also a good way to stay in touch with what acquaintances without having to crowd up your Friends list.

Anyone you add to your friends list will automatically become someone you follow. To have them as friends, they need to add you as a friend (or follow you), as well. Likewise, anyone who follows you will become your friend if you add them or follow them,
too.

I beleive the only way to remove a follower is to block them, however as you can see in the threads you've linked, it can be a bit buggy.

I understand what a follower is and how it works but I have blocked these people and yet they show up on my followers list and it says I have 12 followers. I only have 6 Friends and 6 Followers. So I just find it annoying that it says that they follow me
when in reality they don't. This isn't only happening to me. It is happening to a bunch of people.

Mister Beep, I no longer have 6 unwanted followers I know have 3. I just need those last 3 to be removed and this problem will be fine.
