    Xbox One Flash Drive Support

    Hello there,

I was wondering if the minimum size for usb-flashdrives (stated to be at 256GB) is really that high. I only need to move Ghosts-DLC to an external Storage to be able to disable that, while still beeing able to play it, if I want to. So like 32 GB would totally
be enough for that job and as I am not willed to put much money into buying a 256GB+ Device just to fullfill that purpose.

So if anyone got an USB-Stick of 8-32 GB and could test if it works, that would be great.

    :)

I think you would have to reconfigure it again but it would wipe the drive clean before giving it more room.

nope you would have to use a second drive and transfer the stuff to that other drive when both are in the console then configure the drive to bigger capacity then transfer it back.

Sorry but the minimum size requirement for an external drive is 256GB. The drive must also meet USB 3.0 requirements in order to function properly.

    Hope this helps.

The USB 3.0 part was clear to me.

I don't get the reason behind the size restriction. It appears to me, that microsoft wants us to spend money into external harddrives...

Well, the presumption is that because the games must be installed on the hard drive in order to play them you'll eventually need more space than is provided. The minimum size restriction will ensure that you should have enough memory at all times.

    Switching between two consoles

My suggestion would be to pick up two USB Flash Drives. Format them for use on the XBOX 360 and each one of you put your Gamertag on one. Then when moving from Console to Console - simply grab 'your' Flash drive and go.

You will want to pay attention to which kind of USB Flash drive you buy if you don't pick up one of the officially lics. XBOX 360 Flash Drives, not all are support but if it is a high speed flash drive you shouldn't have a problem.
