Xbox one Fitness retirement - what's next?

Yesterday I received the message the Xbox Fitness app will be retired next year. That would mean that there will be no proper finess apps for Xbox one (I do not count Shape Up as no one can treat it seriously, I suppose). I am really dissapointed with this
decision as I have been using Xbox for as many as possible activities: as a media center, entertainment console, fitness, music etc. Being a long-term fan of Xbox, especially in combination with Kinect, I am concerned with the trend I see now in the console
development: first, the number of Kinect-using games was dramatically lower for Xbox One compared with Xbox 360 and I think no Xbox 360 game with Kinect has back comartibility with Xbox One. Now you are killing Xbox Fitness. So, what should I do with my Kinect
module? As it turns out to be a totally useless device in my home. Would you consider to refund this as well in future? As I haven't noticed any increase in Kinect games for Xbox One since I bought it.

Could you please share with me and the community the plans regarding the Kinect for Xbox One development? Do you consider to further create the applications and games for this module, especially, related to the fitness and health? Would you consider the
back compartibility for the amazing Ubisoft's Xbox 360 Fitness evolved?

Being a true Microsoft products supporter for a long time, I am now seriously thinking to switch to another media and entertainment platform from Xbox, e.g. to PS4, as what I see during last year makes me think that Microsoft plans to abandon this console
or probably the entire entertainment business field.

I hope you will be able to shed the light on it and calm me down as well as the others who share my concerns.

Xbox Fitness Retirement Credit

Xbox Fitness was discontinued on June 27, 2016 and in order to be eligible for refunds, purchases had to have been made before that date. Unfortunately you did not
meet the qualifications as you purchased the content digitally via a third party after the discontinuation date. If you would like to get a refund for this content, you would need to reach out to Newegg for further information.

I purchased Extreme Combat, YO:30, and Tai-Chi from NewEgg as digital content on 9/7 and 9/8 and have not received any Xbox Fitness retirement credit on my account. It would be $69.97 of credit total. Thank you for looking into it!

 

Hi, Microsoft pretty much gave up on the Kinect, I believe they stopped all development now and in the future with regards to the Kinect. No doubt due to the impending release of that wonderful virtual reality device which will probably do as well as the
Kinect did ( it'll sink into obscurity ).

Like me you now have a useless lump sitting on top or below your Tv which is worth nothing, trade in prices are so low it's not even worth going that route either.

Being a day one buyer I had no option other than having the Kinect bundled with my system, to be honest I used it the first day and then gave up on it, sure it works fine for auto signing in if you stand in front of it, hardly the experience we were promised.

Anyway, as you no doubt are aware the Kinect is dead, use it for whatever purposes you can for now then find a corner for it to rot away in.

As for a refund I wouldn't hold your breath.

It's dead folks. The new Xbox one s doesn't even enable all the Kinect functions with the adapter.

Time to sale it if you're going to upgrade to an S or Scorpio unless you use it for video chat, Twitch or Upload studio

 

Will there be a refund for the fitness purchases? I got a message saing so, but so far there's nothing in my account balance so far.
