  1. Xbox ONE Fitness needs an overhaul.

One of the reasons I bought the Xbox one was for the fitness. I used it for the first time today. I'll just create a list of the few issues which concern me.

    1. No direction for beginners or advanced. It's simply a choice of videos.

    2. No Kinect tutorial for any of the videos or fitness in general. I found myself not receiving any credit for exercises I performed. I'm guessing something was not reading my movement correctly or I was not doing the exercise correct.... You know what...
    I'll never know !!

    3. Why not include a calendar? Offer a schedule to do certain videos on certain days?

    4. No mention of anything that may be coming in the future? Are there going to be more videos?

    5. Fitness Test??? Where is it??? At very least I thought something like this would be included and then afterwards a recommendation of which videos you should used based off your test???

    6. More achievements.

    7. This one blew my mind. One of the videos has an ad to buy more videos. But if you buy them you are buying the DVD's and I'm sure they will not fit with in the platform Xbox One offers... ugh???

I have many of these dvd's already. I was looking forward to having an Interactive Library which works together and provides some instruction. I could keep going but I'm frustrated after doing my first workout.

I hope Microsoft is planning to do something about this. It will only help your business.

    :)

  2. New Lag/Freezes Since XBox Fitness Update

Same issue here. Seems to be worse if you come back after suspending xbox fitness (when it doesnt crash when you come back). almost impossible to navigate and avatar is delayed and low fps. Have to start another app and restart xbox fitness.

Also just had crash to home after finishing a workout but before getting scores. This has infrequently happened since launch.

Xbox fitness always has always bad kinect menu support - I actually used kinect to navigate to settings to lower my floor(in vain) and was surprised by how MUCH better kinect is on the xbox ui.

There is still such great potential in xbox fitness but it seems to need some fundamental overhaul to make it less vulnerable to lag, bad performance, initial load times and stability.

    Last played games

Doubt it as they need the 360 servers for backwards compatibilty to work as it is at the moment.

It wouldn't need a major overhaul of the forums either, other gamercard generator sites include your xbox one games & none of them had a major overhaul so why not the official Microsoft/xbox site?

You raise some great points - I think what we currently see is a place-holder and it will develop over time.

Sumo Digital (a British software developer who also did the Nike+ Kinect software for the 360) did most of the work to add the Kinect features to these existing (offline) videos. They may be bottle-necked if they are the only company currently producing
    any content.

The BeachBody stuff is a major point of contention with everybody - BeachBody provided just one Insanity and two P90X segments which were encoded for Kinect but only as demos, with the expectation that users will then buy the DVDs and use those offline.
This of course is counter-intuitive to an online audience and has completely missed the point of the Kinect. It's neither Sumo Digital nor Microsoft's fault - BeachBody would be the place to complain and I have seen it raised on their online forums and their
Facebook page. They are certainly missing out on an income stream but bear in mind, to buy these programs would be as expensive as the DVDs but somewhere along the line, Sumo Digital needs their cut too for adding the interactive features.

I'm also not sure all of P90X would translate to a Kinect environment (pull ups etc.) but I think Insanity would be great.

I was frustrated when I started out too but I found a program I quite like which has kept me engaged for the past month and actually been a good challenge - it was Jillian Michael's "Ripped in 30" and it has the usual muscle confusion stuff that seems to
work well and has helped me get out of the rut I was in with the 360 Nike+ Kinect. I think people assume her stuff is for women but although she uses two women to demo the routines, it works just as well for guys (just up the weights where needed) and at least
gives you a set 4-week system with warm-ups and cool-downs. It only cost about $10 too so worth a shot if you are not sure.

We tried to get our kids to use it as its in our ugly weather season and each x1 froze up 3 times each for one work out. The kids just got frustrated. I think it is a WIFI Using Monster or something. I have the best router we could purchase a bit over
a year ago but with these X1's I guess its time to buy another one. I already pay the upgrade for Internet Service also. Anyways, I think when the X1 is having WIFI issues of any kind even the TV watching gets bad.

Are you sure you're playing Xbox Fitness?

I play it every day and I don't have any of the issues that you have.

It's really simple. Open app, chose a program and start a workout. I don't see the need to start complicating things.

Yes, there are ads.... It's FREE. How is it supposed to pay for itself?

By the way, the free P90X workout kicks a**!!!

Bear: Yes, the work out is amazing when we had it working. I think it should only advertise other workouts available for purchase to play on the X1 though. Turning X1 into an infomercial is cheesy.

But why are you complaining about something that is FREE and in BETA? I don't get it.

Anything FREE needs to be AD SUPPORTED.

And by what you described, you probably have internet connection related issues. Even with my crappy internet (5 Mbps down) I can stream their workout videos without any problems at all.

I think my problem is having 3 x1 fighting for WiFi. I never had problems w 5 360 playing online and streaming though so its strange. I will upgrade the router this week. I never had great success w the built in adapters on the slim and using external
    adapters fixed alot.
