Xbox One First Time Setup Problem with Update

Hey everyone, I just got my xbox one yesterday. I am at college so I had to register my xbox on the university network. I am in the setup process trying to install the required system updates to be able to use the console, yet every time I try it says problem
with update. I tried each of the offline OSUDT file updates via USB. The only one that completely went through was OSUDT2 but after it finished "installing" the xbox did not restart and simply went back to that update screen where it said problem with update.
What should I do? I bought the console from someone that said it was in working order, why can't I get passed the system update?

It's not really a good idea, but you could probably do it.

Not really. Turning it off/unplugging it might not mess anything up, but there's always a chance it could. I'm also pretty sure you'd have to start the update over again if you do that.

 

"university network" might be the problem , could have ports blocked or somekind of firewall , or it could be he sold you a bad xbox ...only way to be sure would be take it somewhere else and try to set it up again...ther is a file on the update tool that
says "restore to factory defaults" you could try also...

 

I tried the reset file to factory defaults and nothing happened. Should I redownload the reset file and unzip it again to my flash drive?

 

you can try the one that almost worked I guess....I really think you need to take it to another network and test it ...
