Xbox One First Time Help

I am looking to finally purchase an Xbox One next week which I'm really looking forward to. Sadly due to circumstances out of my control at this present time; I have no internet access available to me. I will pass the console on to my relative to help perform
the first time update and account setup on my behalf but I was wondering a few things:

- After I've had the system set up and account verified to the XB1; will I be able to take the console back and play offline without requiring to connect online at any given time?

- Will my online account be available offline to play games?

- Will I need to sign-in to play any new disc based games I purchase?

- Is there an offline account available like on the 360?

Basically I am concerned apart from the glaring obvious that my experience will be limited offline for the time being but I don't want to be left hapless not being able to play on the console due to strict restrictions or compulsory requirements.

Not really. Turning it off/unplugging it might not mess anything up, but there's always a chance it could. I'm also pretty sure you'd have to start the update over again if you do that.

Yes, you can play game disc offline after you updating the console for the first time, however, it recently came up that someone who hasn't updated their console since launch wasn't able to play Sunset Overdrive until his console was updated again, so there
may come a time that you might have to get the console back online if a new game requires the latest update.

TBH I wouldn't buy an xbox one without internet access.

Even if you want to add other players you need the internet.

I have a feeling, at some point your going to get frustrated with how much the Xbox one uses/relies on the internet.

(Its a very different beast to the 360)

 

Yeah, with the current state of the One, I'd think twice about buying one if you have no Internet access. They could easily fix it by making a couple of small tweaks here and there and by putting game updates on discs, but you don't know how often that Sunset
Overdrive situation is going to occur.

Also, a lot of games seem to have day one patches now which may potentially fix game-breaking bugs.

 

Always remember.. the XB1 has WIFI.. and some people leave their service open...and un-protected
