Xbox One feels like it's already outdated.

It seems to me that you've had an epiphany. PC it is for you, wouldn't you agree?

 

I don't doubt for a second that the offerings on the current gen will improve with every few releases. Its always the way. Look at the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim. Or Modern Warfare compared to MW3. Huge leaps in quality, both graphically and
in mechanics. In four or five years time we will be gearing up for the next best thing. This time Kinect will be replaced by a VR headset or suchlike. I plan to enjoy this generation as much as the last. So far its been better than average I would say. Would
love MS to make Xbox video subscription based like Xbox music and not just a store. More on the arcade sode of things. Would love to get some classics I bought on 360 marketplace ported over so I am not needing two consoles under the telly (and NOT HAVING
TO PAY FOR THEM AGAIN LIKE PNBALL FX TABLES). Sort of the one guide please. Its truly awful compared to the SKY Planner...that'll do for the moment. Now, where was I on Metro/Destiny/Metal Gear/Fifa...see its not all bad

 

And the majority if them are generic first person shooters.

 

I'm being facetious, and for that I apologise. Look, let's cut to the chase. The next generation consoles don't look like they're going to offer you what you're looking for, will they? Nothing is going to change in the next 5 or so years, that's for sure.
These consoles are, or will be doing things that PC's have been doing for a while, but as time goes on the creativity and imagination of the developers will not be matched by the hardware, so sacrifices will be made. This is true of both the Xbox One and
the PS4.

The conclusion is you accept this fact, or you decide to play on PC. The decision is yours.

 

Oh yeah and one more thing, Microsoft bought Mojang.

 

PC gaming is FAR to much hassle for me to even look at. Seriously. I have a half decent laptop and a steam account. I have no idea if a new game would work on it or not. Probably not! I got the steam account as I wanted to play MYST and Riven on holiday
and someone said they were five quid! I can get them to work. Just. I cant IMAGINE the hassle of PC gaming compared to console gaming. Whatever the whether with each gen I am thankful that SONY and MS are continuing the good work ATARI SEGA and NINTENDO did!

 

You should check out Valves Steam Machine which is going to bring Pc gaming into the console market and Valves Steam Boy which is going to bring Pc gaming into the handheld market.

 

I have just managed to get my music, video and games all singing off one platform. There is NO WAY I am going to mess it all up with a steam machine....unless its really really cheap...and good...which i suspect it will be...

 

It's not the differance between 360 and One games thats the issue for me it's the fact games can run on both. For next gen is not just about graphics it's about the whole delivery of games hence me awaiting Quantun Break to see how the Gritty Drama / TPS
work together. Spartan Ops tried to do this but failed so it's better for me that they take time and get these truly Next Gen games correct.

If you aren't happy with the graphics on your console then you aren't going to be happy if you buy a PC either.

With a PC there is always something better out there. 4k? Bah! 8k is almost here for PC monitors.

Point is that while looking to the future is great, don't let it stop you enjoying what you have now.

The Xbox One has great looking games. Enjoy playing them.
