Xbox One feels like a web app

It doesn't feel responsive at all, when I check my messages I have to wait about 20 seconds for it to load, sometimes it's faster sometimes it is not.. it's never consistent. When I hard reboot it's a little snappier, but it quickly goes away once I load
all my essentials like CoD and Amazon Prime. My Xbox 360 feels more powerful and was a lot more responsive.. Hopefully this gets resolved soon as that PS4 is looking more enticing with all that hardware to backup 2014 technology. This thing still feels like
    it was made for 2005.

    :)

Microsoft demos Windows 10 apps running on Xbox One

Microsoft revealed in January that it's is bringing universal apps to the Xbox One, but the company didn't demonstrate how they would look and feel. That changed today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Microsoft's technical lead for Windows universal apps, Kevin Gallo, took to the stage during a developer event to demonstrate Windows 10 universal apps on Xbox One. While it wasn't a universal app like Mail or Photos, Gallo demonstrated a demo app designed to run across PCs, phones, and an Xbox One.

Gallo also revealed that Microsoft is planning to use hosted web apps in Windows 10. It's a new way for developers to bring their websites to the Windows Store, with Cortana integration and access to notifications, contacts, calendar, and camera. It could be a key way for Microsoft to secure more apps with an easy investment from developers. Gallo discussed Microsoft's adaptive user interface, which is essentially a way to allow developers to create responsive apps in a similar way to how web developers are currently designing websites.

The hosted web apps builds on the popularity of responsive websites, and Microsoft will essentially be allowing developers to just wrap them into a simple app for the Store. If they want to move to more powerful features then there's the option to move their responsive work and code into a full universal app for Windows 10 that can run across PCs, tablets, phones, and Xbox One.

    Netflix update is terrible

Kinect integration also being reported as broken.

Doesn't look or feel like an Xbox One app anymore. Shame.

Do you take the time to actually close your applications by selecting them on the home screen, pressing the menu button, & then scrolling to & selecting "quit" towards the bottom? Because if you don't, it'll start to tax the system under the weight of all
the apps you're unwittingly leaving open. Xbox One feels like a web app ;)

That's because it has more like a Windows 8 operating system STYLE even though it officially has 3 operating systems. Speed HAS improved since launch regarding the time it takes to navigate with the controller. Why don't I try voice commands? It's locked
out for NZ unless I temporarily change my locale to Australia. Loading the friends and other apps takes only a few seconds.

The Xbox 1 HAS greater processing power and RAM than an Xbox 360 Slim console. And it has 300,000 Xbox Live servers compared to the only 15,000 Xbox Live servers for Xbox 360. From what I've experienced, downloading updates like 2GB takes half the time than
it does with Xbox 360 because simply put Xbox 1 has more Xbox Live servers and better processing power. That's a fact and am living through this experience only have normal ADSL Broadband averaging 8.0Mbs down and 0.9Mbs up have Open Nat. The Xbox 1 is for
sure suppose to be able to multitask with ease.

The fact that speed times have improved for navigating the Dash with the controller goes to show it's not solely based on your Internet speed, but also "the way Microsoft makes the software on the Xbox 1". If you have a crap OS/software, the system isn't
going to perform well. I can clearly tell the performance difference between Windows Vista and Windows 7. Since launch, I must say though for the Xbox 1, some of the updates they have released for the Dash HAS helped reduce navigation and loading apps speeds
for Xbox 1. Xbox 360's Dashboard is also web based (Xbox Live) too.

downloading apps has not been an issue but that's besides the issue. Between having to jump back and forth between apps, telling your xbox to snap and unsnap.. not getting it on the first attempt.. the process is bloated. I forget to completely close out
of apps but the system isn't user friendly where I can remind myself to do so all the time.. it should do it on your own.. we're not talking about a PC or an iPhone here.. the hardware alone should be enough to carry as many apps as it can pickup but it doesnt
feel that way. When have you ever had to hardboot an xbox 360?
