XBox One February Update - Multiplayer Bug with Alternative MAC Address

I reported it to XBOX Support. The report is posted according to the person. According to the person, the fix can be in June's release. Well.. that is if the developers can replicate the issue. I hope this will be resolved soon.

 

Still an issue in the May update. Hope they fix it, my mobile data is taking a beating at the moment

 

I'm having the same problem. I can watch anything, download anything, but no multiplayer. I can even connect to the wifi with a 3DS, but even with that can't connect to internet functions such as pokemon battling.

Has anyone had any further luck? I have stopped taking my xbox on the road, which is where I spend most of my time, and it is sadly collecting dust at my house. My ps4 is traveling with me now and it doesn't feel right...

 

Bump. Screw you Microsoft. Online gaming barely uses any bandwidth there's no reason for hotels to frown soon gaming on their WiFi. Fix your system

Ok, here's an update. The system is behaving like it has been since February.

Connected via wifi on laptop. Changed xbox to mirror laptops MAC address. System reset, connected to xbox live. Netflix, hbo go, etc, working properly.

Titanfall - internet access not found

Battlefield - unable to connect to network

COD - cannot connect to xbox live

All apps still running properly, party chat, friends lists, etc still work.

Test Network Connection - "It's All Good"

Test multiplayer connection - "It's All Good"

Detailed network statistics

Download - 8.16 Mbps

Upload - 2.20 Mbps

Packet loss - 1%

Latency - 86 ms

Wireless strength - 95%

NAT type - moderate (never seen open at a hotel in 5 years using alternate Mac)

"All Services Available"

6 other pilots, 8 different hotels in the last 48 hours, all same result.

HELP PLEASE.

 

Thanks for the thread. Finally got this fixed after a month or so thinking it was Ubisoft/EA's issue. Had issues with both Watchdogs and NFS: Rivals connecting to those respective servers and was just frustrated with them. If this already isn't posted on
their new FeedBack site, then I recommend someone with the persisting problem do so. Good luck!

ok guys. i am well aware that this work around i discovered is extremely situational. but i have been at this for the last 5 hours, and since ive recieved a lot of good suggestions from these forums and users like you (not microsoft, they suck.) i would
like to help a few of the people that are in a similiar situation to me.

Like the above posters, i am in a hotel for an extended stay with my xbox one. i previously could use the mac address spoof no problem. however i have a smart phone, and the app foxfi, this app is free and allows you to tether your data without setting
off red flags with your service providers. the trick i used is to boot up the mobile hotspot, log into the wifi on xbox one. so now your xbox allows you to access internet explorer. now i go back to settings and switch over to the hotel internet, i then
proceed to spam the xbox button until it allows me to the home page then i quickly click on internet explorer, the xbox thinks its still online via your mobile hotspot when in reality it is no longer online. so from there you can type in your hotel internets
wifi login page and viola!!! it worked for me guys, i truly hope i help some one out.

Cant play any multiplayer games online on the xbox one but can play on the 360. Im a gold member until 2015 so i dont know whats with xbox live

 

Thanks Diazosoul. Haven't tried this yet, as I've been lucky enough to have hard wired internet in all of my hotels lately, but my buddy didn't have any luck with it. Like you said, it's probably pretty hit or miss, but at least it may help a few. Hopefully
microsoft fixes this soon.

 

Anybody have a clue if a wireless bridge would work? Netgear makes a wireless-to-ethernet bridge for $60.

 

Workaround for those in needs on alternate on hotels, etc.... Just grab your xbox one mac address and spoof on a laptop. Authenticate with the stupid hotspot, then migrate laptop ip, etc to xbox. Im playing like this right now. BUT THE ALTERNATE MAC
ADDRESS NO GAMING ISSUE IS A MORON BUG FROM MSFT!!
