XBox One February Update - Multiplayer Bug with Alternative MAC Address

Same problem here isolated it down to the alternate mac. Please fix this it is ruining my experience with this console!!

Connected to Live, but online games won't connect?

Some questions:

1. Are you using an alternative MAC address?

2. Are you connected over wifi?

If yes, try removing alternative MAC first. There is a bug with the Feb update that breaks using an alternative MAC over wifi when connecting to games but leaves everything else intact. I was attempting to connect x1 over wifi at a hotel and ran into this
problem. I corrected by removing the alternative MAC address.

i have a problem: i restart my xbox one and the system ask me, when i try to connect with a wi fi line, if i have a alternative MAC number to insert....if i cancel this option when i restart another time, the console ask me another time MAC number...

Have you any suggestion for me?

To make this short, I am pretty sure that this will be fixed in the upcoming March update.

 

I think someone with the new update said it doesn't fix it...

Hopefully it's not too difficult to understand. And hopefully this get's the issue resolved.

 

I did that's why I sold my system and gave up a live account that was good till September 40 killer instinct and 30+ dollars on a couple different accounts battlefield premium extra controller 2 battery's and 9 games for 865 went to ps4 and no connection
problems at all

I ran into this bug over the weekend trying to connect X1 over WIFI at hotel since you need to spoof the MAC address of the computer that registers with the hotel. Everything on the system itself connects fine but no multiplayer games work. Fortunately,
I had an ethernet cable that I was able to use and once I switched over to wired everything worked great. I assumed the hotel was blacking over wifi until I did some searching on the Internet.

Being an infrastructure IT guy I was perplexed by the problem so I started digging into it which I deduced it to the alternative MAC address as well.

- wifi with alternative MAC does not work in games but system is ok

- ethernet with alternative MAC works

So what I did was spoof the xb1 MAC address from my laptop and registered it with the hotel which worked.

 

Still no fix for this and it's been 2 months.....

Pretty sad. I sent the information to the support person on here and they stated they forwarded it on to someone but I never heard anything back.

I'm no longer working from a hotel so I don't have the issue but I know there are people out there that still are.

I'm having the same issue. Can download updates and everything. Try to connect to matchmaking and get no internet connection available. Will try a wired connection later to see if that works
