Xbox One faulty side USB port

The side USB port on my xbox one seems to have stopped working. I have owned the xbox one for about a year now and have always been able to use my fightstick to play killer instinct and recently mkx which I use a quanba q4 360/ps3 fight stick and I
use the cronus max converter so it would work with the xbox one. I played mkx last week and everything worked perfectly but last night I tried to plug my fightstick in and all the appropriate leds lit up to signify that my stick was connected however, I could
not get any input from my stick. I ended up using the back ports to play mkx.

My question is if anyone else has experienced this problem as I am worried that maybe the cronus max fried the usb port somehow and it might fry my rear ports as well or if this is just a common problem with the side usb port with constantly plugging
things in and out. I hope this could just be a simple fix but I'm sure I have to send it to repairs if I want the usb port fixed.

    Thanks

    :)

Hey PENDER89! I'm afraid the only real fix for faulty USB ports would be to
send your console in for repair
    . If you're still within
    warranty
this is definitely your best option! Otherwise you'll have to keep removing and reinserting the USB devices in order for the console to recognize them.

Pender, unplug the console from the main AC for a bit then move the connections around. Plug the Wi-Fi adapter in the front and the external HDD. Or vice versa. Then boot the console back up and see if they are recognized.

If they are good thats a start. Then do the same again and plug the adapter back in the rear where it belongs and the same for the HDD. Make sure there is no dust or buildup of any kind in the USB ports by chance. See how that goes mate.

I would be worried to try any third party product in my xbox unless it was approved like for example the third party storage drive necessary to store extra files.

This can be a problem coming from the external devices.

Are you using Microsofts W-LAN antenna and their hard drive? There are many hard drives compatible with XBox but may not work seamlessly. What devices are you using?

Plug in just the WiF adapter and boot the console. See if that works. It is possible the combination pulls too much power. Which WD HDD is it (model number)?
