    Hi all i have a xbox one day one edition and i dont know if there is somethink wrong with my fan noise all not and i really need to check this i have recorded the sound from the concole and it would be great if i could send the sound clip to someone so they
    could tell me if the same thing happens on there concole from Neil

    Hi TimlessViper,

    The Xbox One is pretty silent, but it also has fans. If you listen pretty closely you can for sure hear them. If you hear them across the room, that is a bit abnormal. That by no means it's broken or there is something wrong with your console, but it just
    means that there is a noisy fan. My suggestion would be to try to get some compressed air, and blow out some of the visible fans. Sometimes if the fan is a bit dusty you can hear it moving a bit.

    I was just curious because people try telling me the Xbox One is completely silent is it weird that I can hear my Xbox One fan? Not clicking or making any abnormal sounds I just hear it running, wasn't too concerned really considering it's had some pretty
    heavy use by me and seems to hold up just fine but wanted to see if it's something to look into...I've heard the same sounds on all 4 Xbox Ones I've ever seen.

    can you explain the sound, if it sounds like clicking or grinding i would take it back, just to check you dont have a disc in the drive do you.

    If there's something wrong with your XBox ONE you'll know. Especially if you've had it since day one.

    If you suddenly start 2nd guessing whether your XBox ONE might be... "slightly louder" then that's all you're going to be able to hear every time you have a listen... which will be all the time... and you're just psyching yourself out.

    Xbox one making buzzing noise

    There's 2 main sources of noise in the Xbox One: -

    1. The fan. In the video the OP linked to, that sounds like a fan issue to me as it's making a kinda metallic sound. It definitely shouldn't sound like that. It should just sound like a very quiet whooshing of air - exactly as you'd expect a quiet fan to
    sound.

    2. The hard drive. Because the fan in the One is so quiet, you can more easily hear the hard drive activity.

    You're never going to get an Xbox One that is truly silent and when people say "mine is silent" they just mean that it's extremely quiet, but if your fan sounds like the one in that video then it's faulty.

    What sort of sound are you getting? Just a super loud fan sound, or does it sound like the fan is hitting something? I get a super loud fan on my Xbox One X, but never anything more than that.
