XBox One, Family Timer, Microsoft Accounts

When we had an XBOX 360, my Wife created an account under herself, so that we could regulate what our son/children were doing while gaming. We were able to do parent controls & family timer....you name it. Since we've upgraded to XBOX One, we have finally
found the parent settings/family timer (it took us a long time!).

The down side is that our son is concerned that he is going to lose everything if he logs in as himself...all of his downloads, his progress, you know what I mean! I guess Im trying to better understand Microsoft Accounts, so that I can get him back on the
Family Timer/Restrictions....but I don't want him to have to start over either...can you help? How do Microsoft Accounts work when it comes to logging in on different devices...and if my son logs in as himself now, will it be different (obviously, restrictions)
but will things function the same, and will he still have access to everything?!

Curfews and Time Limits - Family and Child Account Settings - XBOX One

The Microsoft Account family settings including Curfews and Time Limits should apply to XBox One consoles in addition to Windows devices. I cannot find any way to implement curfews on XBox One.

Family Account - See in Microsoft But Not in Xbox

I'm trying to manage my child's Xbox account. I can see the account in the Microsoft family but not the xbox family (which I assumed was a subset of the Microsoft family account).

We don't own an xbox one or have an xbox live account, but we play games through the xbox app on windows 10.

 

If the Microsoft account is the same as the one he uses on the 360, then nothing will change. If it's different than the one he has on the 360, or if he was on an offline account and you created an account for him, he would start over brand new.
