    Xbox One false overheating + not booting


    Started getting an issue where my xbox one is not starting reliably, and when it does start, complains about over heating. It will do this after being sat over night unplugged or plugged in with power, but powered off, so in other words, stone cold.

    When it fails to start, it will play the power on jingle, then after about 5 seconds there is a mechanical click and it will shut off.

    Anyone know a way to fix this, or at least have an idea what the problem may be?

    Sometimes, the problem might be the power supply.

    The console might simply need a power reset. Often, power issues are due to the power supply resetting after a power surge.

    I have heard of this issue before on other games as well but those have been patched, It's likely just the part of the game but giving this false Overheating warning. have you tried contacting the game devs on it in case, there is a issue with game since
    there is 2 different settings for xbox one X and xbox one s game settings causing the console itself to crash giving this false over heat switch off.

    Actually if it was overheating problem, after boot up xbox will prompt a overheating message, its not shows overheating warning message. So in your case and our gears 5 case its not overheating.

    Its really strange. But then i'm thinking why its shuts down in gears: tactics, NBA2K22 Had shutsdown and got patch and Xbx got a System OS update for shutsdown, COD had shutsdown and fixed too.
