Xbox One failed update. Now won't boot up.

    Hi.

I turned my console on a couple of hours ago. It immediately started an update procedure so I left it to it. It got to 85% 'Applying' before it returned an error. From the Troubleshooting options, I selected to restart. Console rebooted and tried to update.
Exactly the same issue. I tried this on two more occasions with no progress.

Next I tried a hard reset, holding power button for 10-12 seconds, unplugged power supply for 5 mins. Reconnected everything up. Power back on, I get absolutely nothing. No black screen, no dashboard, nothing to show that my tv is receiving any input from
    the Xbox whatsoever.

I try another hard reset, using the same process as previous. Again, once power is restored and I press the xbox button to turn the console on, no response.

By this point I am looking on Xbox Support pages and realise that my only option at this stage is to try an offline factory restore. I followed the online instructions to the letter. Downloaded and extracted the System Restore file from the support website
to my desktop before moving the $SystemUpdate file to a brand new 8gb flash drive formatted to NTFS.

Removed ethernet cable, inserted usb drive, unplugged console and left for 30 seconds. Press the sync and eject buttons together, followed by the Xbox button. Xbox powers on. I continue holding the sync and eject buttons until I hear the two beeps within
a few seconds of each other. Console immediately gives the power down sound.

I tried again, same issue. From further reading, this means that the update has failed. So I am now at a loss as to what I can do next.

My Xbox is a Day One oringinal console (impressed it has lasted this long to be honest), but with 6 months or so to the release of the Series X, I was hoping it could hold out until then.

If there is anything else I can try that I haven't already done, please let me know or advise if there is something I can do to resolve this. Tried speaking to Customer Support, but apparently my issue is not supported by Call or Online Chat, so my options
were to re-read the support pages or come here.

Any advice or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    :)

I had a similar issue. I found that my external hard drive that was plugged in was drawing just enough power to prevent the xbox from restarting. It restarted after I unplugged my external drives. Hopefully this helps!

I am not in the insider preview program.

I tried your solution this morning after the console being switched off all night (I'm willing to try pretty much anything at this point). Same issue. Console turns on but there is no output to the TV. I have unplugged and tried new HDMI cables, incase maybe
one had a fault, however unlikely. Even with a fresh out of the box HDMI, there is still nothing.

Apologies, I missed that in my original post.

I followed the instructions for an offline update after trying the restart option a few times, as I was receiving an E208 error.

After I received the update failed sounds on two occasions, I resigned myself to a full factory reset being the only option. So I downloaded that file instead and tried that. That also failed. But by this point, my TV had already stopped receiving a signal
    from the Xbox.

Feel like I am out of options now, which is pretty devastating. 1st world problems I know, but my Xbox has been an important device in my home for a long time now.
Same here, are you in a beta roller preview program ? I resolved just plug out the console from the electric cord... Stay 10 minutes otf and later plug the cord and restart the console normallly... The console strat with a nuw cycle (see the green screen and
xbox logo) and work regular... Maybe it's just overHeating...
