    Xbox one External Harddrive


    Morning Xbox fans,

    I am thinking of getting an external hard drive for my Xbox one. I have read up and it increases load time of games.

    A couple of questions: What speed drive should i purchase?

    Does it help with texture pop ins (like we see in Dead Rising 3)

    Have you tried changing the hdd?

    If external harddrive will eventually be supported then I'll wait and see how it goes. I just hope that the update will be released before the harddrive is full and I have to start deleting stuff off of it. From the video, it seems that the Xbox One and PS4 work the same way I don't get why Microsoft don't let people swap out the harddrive.

    If you have an external hardrive pluged in to your xbox one the system will then take the xbox ones main harddrive and use it for a backup for when your external harddrive becomes full. As far as takeing games and apps from the xbox one harddrive to an external
    yes that can be done by going to the setting and goto system setting and click on manage storage and select your system storage

    Yeah, you can have two drives connected at any one time. Not sure where the 4TB came from, though - each drive can be a maximum of 16TB in size, meaning up to 32.5TB total storage on the console.

    I presume you can put games on the external harddrive. I.E discs that you buy from shops, not just digital marketplace content

    I know there's 1 USB slot on the left hand side of the console (facing it). Are the rest in the back?
