XBox One External HardDrive RAID support

Since the XBox is a Windows 8 computer. Can the system support a RAID configuration for external harddrive to use? I am concerned about data loss and want to protect it.

    :)

Have you tried changing the hdd?

If external harddrive will eventually be supported then I'll wait and see how it goes. I just hope that the update will be released before the harddrive is full and I have to start deleting stuff off of it. From the video, it seems that the Xbox One and PS4 work the same way I don't get why Microsoft don't let people swap out the harddrive.

Xbox One supports any external harddrive, be it portable or desktop as long as it is USB 3.0 .

XBox One External HardDrive RAID support

Hi, there should be no need for raid 'cause your savegames are stored in the cloud and you always can redownload broken data

    Greetings

That is great news. Wonder how it affects people with no high speed internet.

Yes, you can use an external RAID on the XB1, but the external RAID must have a built in RAID controller for it to work. You can't use software RAID to join/mirror the disks like you can in Windows. And you have to setup the RAID before you connect it to
the XB1. If you don't, it will just show up in the xb OS as two (or more) drives.

I'm currently running external RAID on my XB1, but I have it set to stripe, not mirror. I did this for the improved performance of RAID0 over a single HDD. In some instances you can see a dramatic improvements, and in others, its negligible. Biggest gain
that I've noticed so far is in Forza5. Depending on the track, the load time can be almost cut in half over the internal drive.

Is there a way to save DVR clips to external hard drive?

If you have an external hardrive pluged in to your xbox one the system will then take the xbox ones main harddrive and use it for a backup for when your external harddrive becomes full. As far as takeing games and apps from the xbox one harddrive to an external
yes that can be done by going to the setting and goto system setting and click on manage storage and select your system storage
