Xbox One external Hard Drives

Have been looking at buying an external hard drive for my xbox one as I am hearing a lot of people are having problems with their internal drives filling up. Had a quick look online, and with so many to choose from left me feeling lost.

Just wanting any advice/experience people have on particular brands and models.

Saw a good deal on a "Seagate Wireless Plus 2TB HDD" ???

if adverts for "compatible" external hard drives are any indication it would seem the external storage patch should be coming some time soon although I note it wont be in the first patch released.

I suggest you a normal USB 3.0 2TB Drive. not with this Wirelesss Stuff

I use a Toshiba 2 TB Basic.

sometimes the pre-installed Backup-Tools Needs to be removed at PC before formatting on XBOX.

I think the Wireless models are expensier and you will not use it..

I think it is too pricy for that you will not use the wireless funtion. thats my opinion...

sometimes it will not be detected because of backup-stuff

@CWEric: do you use SSD? is your xbox faster? in loading?

 

External Hard drive tends to be larger, more noisy, less durable, less portable, than an external SSD. Yes I notice a bit of faster loading speed when I switch to a SSD. Games that has slower loading speed are now more tolerable to load than before. I really
appreciate using the SSD when playing Forza Horizon 2 cutting down the loading time switching places or almost instantly switching custom paints on cars. There also been times when the the game level start before the intended loading screen scenery finishes
like in Destiny the game start before the dialog ends.

Logical: Get a Seagate Portable External Hard Drive for $90. The 2TB should last you about 3 years. In the future when you need more space can get a SSD that by then should be the standard selling on a fair price.

If you don't want to worry about space again then get the Seagate Desktop External Hard Drive for $150. The 5TB should last you forever . For only $60 more you get 4 more TB than the portable one. The drawback is that it comes with an extra cable to power
it.
