    Xbox One External Hard Drive


    With the Xbox One about to burst I'm after a external hard drive and I'm looking at getting

    this one     any advice on any better deals or better hard drive or whatever as I'm pretty much clueless to what's best !!

    I got the 4TB Seagate external HD from Amazon and it's worked fine.

    Western Digital are supposed to be a good make too.

    do you have to format the drive to be able to use it with the one?

    Consoles just over a month old but have used 80% of the space.

    Yes you'll have to format the drive but you do this by plugging it into your XBox ONE.

    Because the ONE now recognises external drives for the purposes of viewing contents if you're going to us one for storage on your ONE you'd be best to wipe it first anyways.

    if you don't see an option to format the drive to use as storage for games and apps then restart the console with the drive attached, seen a few not picking it up as available for storage just media playback.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

    Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

    Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

    Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

    If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
    that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.

    Are you running it off of the hard drive on the Xbox One or an external one? If you are playing off of the internal drive on the Xbox One then you may want to get an external for it because that is a known issue as far as the Xbox One hard drive and this
