I need some suggestions for a external hard drive for my xbox one. I have been searching for hours and can't find one that would work... Is there any website (besides amazon and ebay, i checked those already) that I can purchase a hard drive?

    :)

Any USB 3.0 drive with a minimum of 256GB storage would work fine. Both Amazon and eBay have plenty of these. Just a couple example of manufacturers I've seen people happy with - Western Digital (WD) and Seagate, but they're by no means the only ones.

^^What he says. Xbox One External Hard Drive Suggestions. :D

First decide if you want a 2.5" external or 3.5". The 2.5" drives are powered by USB, so you don't need to plug the drive into a power socket, but the biggest ones you can get are 2TB. The 3.5" drives come in larger capacities (up to 4TB) and are generally
faster, but you need to plug them into a power socket.

Once you've made that decision, I'd go with any USB 3.0 drive from a well known manufacturer. There are tons of choices on Amazon.

I personally went with a Touro Mobile Pro 2.5" 1TB drive. Unlike most 2.5" externals, it has a 7,200 RPM drive inside it, compared to 5,400 which is most common, so it's nice and fast. I'd have liked a bigger drive, but 1TB is the biggest 7,200 RPM 2.5"
external I could find. A faster drive means shorter loading times, so that's why I went with that particular model, plus I didn't want to have to plug it into a power socket.

Well I have resolved this issue in case anyone else has the same problem. I replaced the usb cable that came with the Touro S drive with a 6ft. Ativa brand Usb 3.0 Cable and it works great. For some reason the Xbox one does not like the cable that ships
with the Touro S Drive. I noticed that the ativa cable is a lot longer, thicker, and better quality than the one that shipped with the drive.
