    Xbox One external hard drive question.


    Hi I would really appreciate it if some could give me an answer to this. If I have downloaded all my digital games onto my external hard drive and the xbox goes bad and I buy a brand new one, will I be able to plug in my external and continue playing as
    normal or would I need to re download everything?

    In theory,it should work.

    Your digital licences are link to your Xbox live account and if you already got your digital downloads on your external HDD plug to a brand new Xbox one (set as your home console).It should work.

    I don't see why,it shouldn't.

    I have done this and can confirm if all your games are on the external drive all you do is plug the hdd into the new box and your off no re-installing.

    Yes you can plug it into any Xboxone, sign in and play all your games.

    Hello everyone Xbox One external hard drive question. :)

    I am really glad that you won't have to re-install games if your Xbox One goes bad Xbox One external hard drive question. :)

    I am going to have to transfer all of my installed game stuff to my External HDD when I eventually get it Xbox One external hard drive question. :)

    Can I transfer the stuff from the Xbox One HDD to the External HDD without having to delete the game and re-install it to the External HDD?

    @Lei Fang: You can move content between the drives when you like. You don't need to re-install or re-download anything. You don't have to do it all at once either. You can move games one at a time if you like.

    You got 3 choices

    Move a file/game to one HDD to another.

    Copy a file/game,it will appears on both HDD.

    Delete file/game.

    Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. As previously mentioned by our Ambassador's in regards to your question about the External Hard Drive for your Xbox 360, you will need to get an External that is compatible with the Xbox one. The external hard drive
    that you have for your 360 will not be compatible with the Xbox one. If you would like more info on

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

    Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

    Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

    Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

    If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?
