    Xbox one external Hard drive issues.


    So over the past few months I've been having issues with my external HD either failing or corrupting and this has happened multiple times. Everytime it happens I have to plug it into my laptop and format it and then reinstall over 100 games and apps. I replaced it a week ago and now it's happened again so it must be a bug within the preview build I'm on and I'm considering leaving the alpha s/a ring if it means I can keep my games and apps safely stored on my hd. Currently i can see them when i view my external HD I just cant open them. I have a western digital 3TB my passport. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this so I can stay in the ring I would really love to stay but I csnt deal with this much longer....

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

    Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

    Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

    Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

    If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    Are you running it off of the hard drive on the Xbox One or an external one? If you are playing off of the internal drive on the Xbox One then you may want to get an external for it because that is a known issue as far as the Xbox One hard drive and this
    game.

    Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

    No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

    I understand you are experiencing an issue with your external hard drive's games not showing up on your Xbox One. You may want to try plugging in your external hard drive to another USB port on your console. Also, check out this article for troubleshooting
