Xbox One External Hard Drive Dissapeared

    Xbox One External Hard Drive Dissapeared


    I am having trouble with a passport x external drive. After running out of the tiny xbox one hard drive i bought external hard drive. It worked great till i got the frozen xbox glitch where you unplug the power cord to get it to reset. My passport x sometimes
    cuts in and out. Ready gone ready gone. Ive tried all usbs. This week my overwatch on hdd was corrupted and i redownloaded. Then battlefront 2 on passport got corrupted. So i redownload battlefront but my passport spins a bit (i hear it) then installation
    stops. Over and over it stops and starts and download remains at 0%. I've reset xbox one and now the passport isn't even recognized at all. What do i do? Is it a power issue? Right now half my games are gone and I tried all the microsoft troubleshooting.
    This is the xbox one just before the 1TB one came out. Thanks

    Any help? Lol wondering if anyone checks this forum because never gotten any answers from microsoft to anything i post here...which is frustrating customer service.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

    Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

    Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

    Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

    If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
    that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.
