  1. Xbox One External Drive Problem

    Hello,

My Xbox one has worked fine up until around 3 days ago, I noticed that all my games were gone from "My Games & Apps", I didn't think much of it, but checked settings to be safe, sure enough, in "Storage Devices", only my Internal storage was appearing, not my external. I managed to get it to be detected again by Holding down the button on the front of my Xbox for about 10 seconds, unplugging it for 5 minutes, and plugging it back in. That solved the problem with my drive being detected, but it got a lot worse,

My games on external storage would not open, and also refused to uninstall or move to internal storage. I decided to preform a reset of the Xbox, but keeping my games & apps. Now my games on internal and external storage don't load up, installing games is unbearably slow (I don't have the best speed, but it was abnormally slow), and now my external drive will not even light up. It gets detected in my laptop, in Drive Management, but when I plug it in to my Xbox One, it starts up but shows no light and does not get detected in my Xbox. I don't know what to do now or what the next steps are. I have a feeling this is software side as my Xbox was working completely fine until just a couple days ago.

Thank you for any answers or suggestions you may have.

    :)

Xbox one wont recognize external hard dirve

Seems to me that it is a problem with either the drive itself or the cable connecting the drive to the console.

If you have another external drive handy, try using the cable from your xbox external drive and see if it can connect to a computer or laptop. If it can, then its more than likely a problem with your external drive.

Alternatively, you could test your external drive on another xbox one console.

Memoria esterna non rilevata e il controller non risponde ai comandi [Translation - External memory is not detected and the controller does not respond to commands]

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    Let us know.

Loading games off external Hard drive doesn't work (Xbox One)

    Hi there,

Have you tried using a different external drive (different brand even) to see if it does the same thing?

It will help to narrow down if it's the drive or the console.

I have and original Xbox One console that doesn't want to use read my external drive, but my One X has no problem with the drive. And it's a newer drive.

Civilization 6 crashing on Xbox series S

There is a possibility that there is either a connection issue with your external hard drive or somehow the external drive is corrupted. One possible solution is to uninstall the game and then reinstall the game. Try installing the game on only the internal Xbox hard drive to see if that fixes the problem. Also, try launching other games on your external hard drive to see if how those games are functioning normally.
