same here but ist been like that before. Sometimes it takes like 30 seconds to open a message or to view achievements. Very annoying

Try changing your DNS server and checking the Live ping

I think it is useful, when discussing performance issues, people should make clear where they are.

My UI is slow - but my broadband is decent - I am in the UK (London).

I'm having issues too. I'm no longer in the beta preview, wired 300 mb connection and I'm in Calif.

All apps are taking longer to load (Netflix, Hulu, etc) but once they load they work fine. The biggest issue is with the One Guide, Every time I load it either with the controller or SmartGlass it takes 15 to 20 seconds for the channels to load.

Tried the normal fixes (hard reboot, power cycle modem and router) didn't help.

@Auswulf - I disagree. The X1 has built-in wifi, hence it is supposed to work to a performing manner via wifi. Telling people to not use wifi isn't constructive. The UI shouldn't need a lot of bandwidth - the data that "Friends" app (for example) shows
is very little, a mobile phone app showing that data in less than a second.

I understand seeing a "spinning wheel" when I maybe watch movies but certainly don't expect it when just trying to read a 5 word message someone has sent me on Xbox Live.

I wouldn't call it network on your end lag. I think it would be more software lag for the way they make the Xbox 1 Dashboard. I suppose Windows 8 doesn't like Xbox Language that's why Achievement notifications may lag our you have to do a hard boot. Xbox
1's hardware is capable, 8GB DDR3 RAM. Xbox 360 has only 512MB GDDR3 (?) RAM yet it has an excellent UI/Dashboard. Certain Xbox Live services have been temporarily down frequently especially this year.

Since the November Update, haven't really experienced that much lag to complain about it. I thank Microsoft for bringing back XBOX LIVE FEATURE change the dashboard background and XBOX LIVE FEATURE bios/location return to your profile. They've been rolling
out lots of Dashboard Updates for Xbox 1 since it came out. I won't be long until they provide their next Update. Have had no issues with The Crew, Minecraft, and Forza 5. Sometimes it's the PING for me, since Xbox 1 uses different Xbox Live Servers (300,000
worldwide) to Xbox 360's Xbox Live Servers (15,000 worldwide).

For me the November Update hasn't worsen the performance of the Dashboard. I've found it has enriched it and made me want to play on the console more (tho I still play way more on 360 and so do the majority of my friends). I know there is this Preview Program
thingy which I an NOT in. If you are IN it, you must understand that there are going to be bugs. It's best to update to the full versions not beta dashboard not preview programs things, because Microsoft has fine tuned it and released it to everyone, not just
a group like who are in this preview program thing. I still say it's a bit too Windows 8 like still compared to the Xbox 360 awesomeness UI, but I'd definitely 100% would say the Xbox 1 UI is much better than what it was like 22/11/2013.
