Xbox one explorer fake MS essentials security alert

hiya all,

was as browsing with explorer and all of a sudden I'm confronted with a security alert from MS essentials. this tells me to phone a toll free number in order to sort it.

i can not access any tabs or do anything. I can't leave the page Either.

Bassically it fully locked down to this one single page.

Any one got any assistance?

if i were you

a 2 way firewall like ms firewall or zonealarm and a good free antivirus like adaware and avast

btw JAVA is the worst security hole ever



make sure you update it

thats how most worms and malware get installed and yes i got infected after clicking no no update and i had a funny security essentials replaced by some pc security program

luckily i restored

and yes you can never be too careful

 

Fake message alert

Third one of these I've come across on here in a week. Something's going on.

 

Have you already tried to powercycle your console ?

You can do this by holding down the powerbutton for about 10 seconds

 

Yep, slang with delete profile but still there and did a clear Mac address.

 

Since this is a very strange issue it might be best to contact support by phone

 

Sorry I might of misinterpreted it, If you start your Xbox does it automatically go to that page ?

If not, just delete the app and all related content to it and download it again

Since it is IE as app you won't be able to delete it, please see the steps on this link on how to close a tab page of I, that should solve the issue:
