  1. Xbox One Ethernet Cord/Connection Issues

    Hello,

Last night when I turned on my Xbox One I got some sort of system update. After I installed that I signed into Xbox Live and got into a party with my friends fine (and I am still able to as well as use apps such as Youtube and Netflix). I then tried to play
Black Ops 3 and it would not connect to the online game service. I have also tried to sign into the backwards compatible Xbox 360 emulator to play a game and that wouldn't connect either. I have tried to reset my Xbox and unplug everything as well as trying
to reset my modem and still nothing fixes it. When I go to a wireless connection though it does let me sign into the Black Ops 3 servers but just like most people I prefer having a wired connection. Like I said, when I am wired I can talk with friends and
such, its just that playing online games is a problem and also my network statistics are drastically different then what they were before this whole thing (but my NAT type still says open). Im hoping someone can help with this or give any further suggestions,
    thank you.

    :)

"You must have an active connection to play Xbox Live"

Have you tried running a wired connection to your xbox with an ethernet cord? That would at least be away to see if your having issues of a signal dropping spastically causing issues.

  3. Can't connect to wired network..."hardware problem"

Hi to whomever this may concern,

I am trying to connect my Xbox One console to the Internet using Ethernet cord. I have been having connectivity issues using wireless connection so I decided to try and use wired connection. When connected, the Xbox will not even acknowledge the networks
available and it shows "Hardware Problem". Please any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Xbox One Ethernet Cord/Connection Issues

To update on this issue I have realized that when the Ethernet is in, when I go to the advanced settings in the network settings, things such as the DNS and IP servers are wrong. For example, the DNS servers don't come up as a regular address but as multiple
characters (something like 22:;%fe). As for the IP address, it is an address, just not mine. This is all resolved when I switch to wireless but again I do not prefer that. I have seen suggestions like it could be the wire or the Xbox needs to be repaired but
is there anyway I can know for sure?

What is the make and model of your modem/router?

Have you tried to configure a static IP address for your console? An address which is excluded from the DHCPs pool of addresses.

Different Ethernet cable, along with a different LAN port on your gateway?
