Xbox One Error Code:0x80a40008

same here this is day 5 on phone w/ xbox support will keep everyone posted.

 

I was on the phone with customer support as well for well over two hours. We went through every trial and error process we could until he said he needed to have the problem escalated and needed to talk to his supervisors. I eventually lost signal while on
hold on my cell phone so I am not sure what to do next. I did not want to call back and start from square one. So don't bother formatting your xbox, making a new email, changing your email password, making another live account. You will be wasting your time.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved ASAP without having to buy another 12 month gold card for a different account :S

 

mine has been down since sat after a forced name change, managed to get on on my mates 360 to change my gamertag and password, but no luck with that either!!!

 

Everyone with this problem, try signing in now. I just tried and I can log in again! Thank god! If it doesn't work for you then you might want to get a hold of customer support like I did and they might have to directly fix the problem on your account or
Xbox because they also took my Xbox one ID number. Hope everyone else's account is working!

 

Try signing in now! I just logged back into my account for the first time. FINALLY!

 

Nothing we can do. Support is lost and their tech team will be looking into it is all I was told. I love how when a good game comes out xbox flops!!!

Funny part my friends are on their xbox one and in their account.

 

What I don't understand is how can I not connect my profile to xbox live but a few friends of mine are able to play still...? I know they're working to fix the issue but how is it that some can connect and others can't? Frustrated... i just... want... to

I have an answer...I called Microsoft today when I received this error code...they said they had never heard of such a thing...I then said well that's funny there's a forumn about it right here...anyway I proceed to tell him that other techs have been asked
this question and that you guys were given a 4 or 5 day wait time. And that was march 7 so surely you Microsoft guys know something now right? They wanted me to do the usual troubleshoots even tho I told them it had already been done with no luck as I referenced
this forumn yet again....the response was well I don't know about the other guys with this problem so just try it....we spend a good hour on the phone as I am put on hold as troubleshoot test fail again and again. Making me change my Microsoft password and
log into my account on the computer...anyway after all the wasted time I too was informed itle be a 5 day wait but can be fixed it's a common error with people who have offensive gamertags and have been forcefully changed by Microsoft...so your answer is call
Microsoft listen to their bs trial and error method for an hour then get to wait 5 days for a email saying it's been fixed...this is day 1...unlike those before me I will post again when fixed to give you guys after me a legit time frame

 

Also you have to call them...it won't fix itself...they have to fix it...there is NOTHING you can do on your end.

 

Good/bad to know!, i registered the error with them via "chat with a xbox person", and they said 4-5days so i hope that happens!............watch this space then!
