Xbox one error - 0X803f800f

I am gamesharing with my brothers xbox. (My account is set on brothers xbox as home xbox and my brothers account is set in my xbox as home xbox)

I and my brother got For honor with Xbox live gold a while back. At this time i had xbox live gold and my brother also had xbox live gold (but we were already gamesharing).

If i faund out correctly, then if we are gamesharing we need only one xbox with gold, so i stopped my subscription.

Now when my subscription ended neither me or my brother cant play For Honor, althought he still is subscribed to xbox live gold. We both can play games online, also all other games we have got from xbox live. Just For honor is not working.

When we start the game we got error - 0X803f800f.

I have tried to hard reset xbox, remove my account and add it back, reinstalling the game. Nothing is not working.

What do we do?

This error code means that you’re trying to play a game acquired with Games with Gold, but the Xbox Live Gold subscription used to get the game has lapsed.

Because the My Home Xbox feature is meant to be used on one console and if you share across two consoles you both must have a Gold subscription. Technically speaking you are actually breaking the Terms of Service. To play a game that you got with a Gold
subscription you must keep that Gold subscription.

 

OK. So if i understand this correctly. I have to remove my home xbox from the other xbox and keep it that way.

In this case Xbox Nr.1 is home xbox for me and my brothers accont. And for Xbox Nr.2 there is no account with home xbox? Is this correct? We can play it in this way?

 

You either both have to play on the same console or you both have to have a Gold subscription. Your brother can make the other console his home xbox whether or not he has a Gold subscription but to continue to play the way you had it configured initially
you both need a Gold subscription.

 

Well even if probably that setup was not the idea behind gold/game sharing and the home console concept, it is currently used mostly in families with more than one console and as far as I know it is legit.
The limit on the number of times you can change the xbox home is in place to prevent abusing it.

As you confirmed the only issue is the game For honor, everything else is working as expected, so I suspect there's something related to that game. As for removing and adding back accounts, I'd try doing
the same with your brother account, not yours, since the gold is active on his account and that is also his home console.

I don't know if the game itself has other checks on its own.

Sorry to hear about this situation regarding you guys being able to play For Honor.

If every other game works, and you guys can get online the way that you're supposed to, then yeah, it seems to be a problem with that game specifically.

If I were you, then I would go ahead and try the troubleshooting steps on our page entitled “My Xbox One game won’t start or freezes during gameplay”
and see if that helps you guys out.

Just so I am understanding you correctly

1. You both had Gold at one time.

2. You set your brothers console as your profiles home console.

3. You set your console as your brothers home console

4. You got For Honor when it was free with gold.

5. You cancelled Gold but your brother kept gold.

6. Now neither one of you can play For Honor.

7, You can still play some of the games that you got with the games with gold. just not For Honor.

So if all of this is correct I would have to guess that when For Honor was available for free with gold Your Brother did not get it and you did.

IN order to PLAY Xbox ONE games that you get free with gold you must maintain an active Gold subscription.

Even though your brother Has a gold subscription the only reason that he would not be able to play it is if he did not get the game when it was free with gold. That would be the ONLY reason that you would be getting that error message.
