Does anyone know if the Xbox One has a preprogrammed end of life date coded into the console? The reason I ask this is because I have a first generation xbox one and I've had it since the day the xbox one was new. Lately it has been acting fishy, erasing
data randomly, sometimes entire games. I think it might be dying. Any idea?

    :)

Pros/Cons for Xbox One? Wait or buy now?

I was one of the first mover during the launch of Xbox 360, Took around 2 years for it's technology and price to stabilise. Xbox 360 still serves me well currently. Will only consider XB1 when the 360 is EOL.

The console's components are subject to wear and tear the more you use the console. There is no such "end of life" code that's deliberately killing your console. I'm mostly guessing, but it sounds like your hard drive is
    possibly going defective.

Let's first try a proper power cycle. That can help clear any corrupt cache that could cause strange system behavior. Continue to use your console as you normally would, and see if it helps stop the random
    erasing.

If it still continues to randomly delete games, you can attempt to
    factory reset your console
, log back in with your profile, and reinstall your games. (Don't worry: your account, saved games, and digital purchases are already automatically saved in the cloud).

If it STILL continues to do that, then it seems that there is a problem with the console itself. Schedule a repair with Microsoft online or contact Xbox Support (phone/chat) for more help. Details are below:

I am afraid the third option is my only option, as I tried the first two before writing this post.

    My gamertag

Unknown and 360 games will unlikely support it since the console is EOL

    Broke wired controller

Since the Xbox 360 has not reached EOL status, it won't be long before self/third party repair is the only option.
