Xbox One Endlessly Restarting

Hi,

I haven't yet installed the summer update, but as of this morning, my Xbox One has been restarting itself every minute (literally). It doesn't turn itself on, but when I turn it on, it begins to restart itself. It gets to the dashboard and signs me in,
but it no longer connects to my WiFi automatically, and it doesn't stay on long enough for me to reconnect to the network.

Here's what I've tried:

1. Restarted the console. Many times. I pulled the power supply out after holding the power button for 10 seconds and left it unplugged for 30 minutes. No change.

2. Checked the heat of the console. The console is well ventilated, and considering I hadn't turned it on all day when the problem began, I doubt this is the issue.

3. Did a hard reset on the console. I can get through the network setup stage of the initial startup before the console restarts itself again, so I've stopped trying. As I type this, I'm watching and hearing the console reset itself over and over, but
now I can't reach the dashboard.

4. Browsed through several forum posts for several websites. It appears that the solution has always been either something I've already tried or sending the console in to a repair center.

I don't know what has changed to cause this problem. I haven't installed anything new or messed with any system settings, and when I was still able to access the update screen, I saw that my last update was in April. Halp plz.

hi guys when i play a game then i switch to a app like youtube then go back to my game the screen is black i have audio and the the xbox turns itself off anyone know what might be causing this thanks

 

Xbox one keeps restarting

Hi all, I've bought RSYE, installed it and started the campaign, the games starts to load, get to the first cut scene and then it just restarts! It does it everything Time. I've returned the game, got a new copy and it happens again. I've reset the console
to the factory setting, I've got the power setting set to do not turn off automatically and it still happens. Any ideas? I have BF4 and DR3 and they work, I have noticed on BF4 when I'm playing online and there is a big explosion or a lot going on, the system
freezes... Is the console OK? The machine is out and in a ventilated area. Help please Thanks OLLY

Since you mentioned you haven't installed the new update yet, that's going to be the first thing you're going to want to do to see if it resolves the issue. Follow these steps to obtain the update.

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Update Console.

Thanks for the quick reply. I failed to mention this above, but I did attempt to install the new update when I saw the news of the rollout (following those same steps you outlined). However, the new update did not install, so I took it to mean that the
update hadn't yet been "rolled out" to my console.

At this stage, I am unable to follow your instructions, as I had performed a hard reset on my console to try and solve the problem. Instead of solving the problem, the console is now stuck in an endless loop, restarting itself before I can complete the
initial setup. This means I can't reach the dashboard to update the console, and I don't know of another way of updating that wouldn't void the crap out of my warranty.

I've left the console unplugged since my initial post, but I plugged it back in before writing this reply to see if the problem had fixed itself. No dice, unfortunately.

Looks like I was wrong in my previous post: there is a non-warranty-voiding solution for updating your Xbox One, available here:

I followed these instructions, and although everything has been totally reset to zero, the console seems to be working normally now.

Awesome, glad to hear it's working now! That would have been the very next step I would have suggested so I'm glad you were able to find that and get it working.
