Xbox One Elite controller stick tension

So been playing a few weeks now with the Elite controller and absolutely loving the under paddle buttons; my action efficiency's so much faster now.

However I do feel a problem with the design of the controller - the tension of the twin sticks; they are pretty loose.

So loose in fact, that when I release the stick after making a directional input command, it doesn't go back to just the neutral position, but clearly exhibits Newton's first law of motion as it wobbles pass neutral to the opposite direction before the tension
manages to pull it back. This can adversely affect gameplay as my targeting actions can end up the opposite of what I intended.

The tension of my previous Xbox 360 controller is significantly - to my preference - tighter. Is there any way perhaps to adjust the Elite sticks to make them tighter?

How is your Elite Controller holding up?

The Elite controller is obsolete since the Xbox One S controller has improved analog sticks with more tension than the original One controller or Elite controller. The sticks on the S controller don't have that floppy feeling and the bumpers are way better. The added texture really makes it feel much better too. The Elite controller needs a redesign.

How is your Elite Controller holding up?

Got a Battlefield 1 Xbox One S today and the S controller is the perfect weight,stick tension,bumpers,triggers,buttons. No need for a Elite controller.

The standard Series X controller has a default stick tension that is not adjustable. However, the Elite Series 2 controller has adjustable stick tension with three different settings as you mentioned in your question. With the Elite Series 2 controller, you can increase or decrease the stick resistance according to your preference.

Some of the design choices on the upcoming elite series 2 were made with the 360 controller in mind. The adjustable tension analog sticks will allow you to match the 360s tension for example.

I had two Elites as well.

Bad experience with both.

Adjustable stick tension has me really excited though.

Normal X1 controllers feel like you're trying to aim with a wet noodle (65g of tension of EliteV1 and launch controllers 80g on X1S/X controllers)

If I can raise the Elite V2 to an Xbox 360 lvl of 110g i'd be thrilled.

It took me a while to adjust, but now that I have, a regular Xbox controller doesn't feel right after spending a couple weeks with the Elite 2.

I'm using the middle thumb stick tension for both thumb sticks. For my right thumb stick I changed the settings from Default to Instant. I have the left thumb stick set to the middle tension as well with the settings at Smooth.

Hello, as mentioned the elite 2 controller has bluetooth but if your pc doesnt you will need a bluetooth dongle for your pc. Also, I highly recommend the elite 2 controller. I loved the first one and find that the 2 is even better. It is slightly smaller
than the first and one reason I preferred the elite 1 was because of the tension in the sticks. They seemed much more precise. I cant even use a regular controller anymore as they feel loose and cheap to me. The elite 2 went a step further and you can actually
adjust the tension on the sticks. There are 3 different settings that go from loose to very tight. I personally love it.
