Xbox one elite controller rubber grips coming off

i haave 2 elite controller and both are doing thoa the rubber grips have started coming off. The first lasted almost a year but this second has only lasted a few months.

I don't know where is the "elite" on a controller with so many flaws. My elite controller rubber grips become loose and are opened. I am a casual gamer and take excellent care of my stuff. It looks more like its a manufacturing flaw. We will know for sure
if their engineering team fixed this when they launch the new Xbox One S which comes with a controller that features rubber grips same as the elite.

The rubber on my elite controller is also coming away. Looked everywhere and I can't find anywhere that sells or has stock of the back cover and/or the side grips. :-(

 

spend all that money... Then buy glue to fix it, do you do that with all the other stuff you buy, no an established company should sort it out for you and cover the pandp, and give you a good will gesture for the inconvenience Fool

 

nope they will still use inadequate cheap parts, that's where the profit is

I have had mine for a while and I Really look after my controllers. I have a few including evil controller, etc that cost over £300. The thing is this is a design flaw as the rubber being used is not rated for the heat of some people's hands. Mine has just
sort of melted over time and expanded and distorted. The hotter your hands the worse it will be. I don't mean sweaty either as my hands don't sweat at all. I just bought a 2nd one(well third if you count my gears one I don't use.)then realised that after googling
about I could buy a replacement back plate and grip covers for like £23 on ebay. So if you can stomach the small layout and 10 mins with a screwdriver for £20 odd you can have your controller back like new.

 

The cause of the problem is sweat. The sweat expands the rubber making it too big to glue back on.

 

The rubber is coming off of my husbands controller and I'm having a hard time gluing it back on because I can't get it to sit quite as tight as it originally was set. I am not, however, having this issue with mine. I believe that this is because I use the
paddles on mine religiously, so am not gripping the rubber parts. I love this controller and never want to go back to not having the back paddles. I think that when I replace my husbands controller though, I will be going to a different model.

 

Mine is doing the same thing. I do not understand this.

 

So is mine, I have the Forza Motorsport controller and the grips are just peeling off, I don't abuse the controllers and I don't know why this is happening!!

 

And so is mine ... clearly a manufacturing error in which case the grips should be replaced for free ! at least in my country the law states this.

 

If you have a proof of purchase, take into your local Microsoft Store and speak to a technician.

 

I am on my 3rd replacement. 1st one hair triggers broke, took it back and the store replaced it, this one all the rubber grips fell off. Couldn't find the reciept, so glued them on but they never fitted on properly. My better half took pitty on me and bought
a new one end May 2017, now this is suffering the same rubber grip problem 3 and a half months on. They should do a recall as there are blatent construction issues.

 

some fail, really. fail rate for myself is 100% (3 eilites) I am a 50 year old, who doesn't throw, drop or use my control in a manor that would cause damage. My stepson (22 years old) bought one and his to is falling apart. So 4 controls in 12 months in
one family. that isn't bad luck, that is major design an construction flaws.
