Xbox One Elite Controller Replacement?

I've owned and Xbox One Elite Wireless controller for 5 months, and already the rubber grips on the back of the controller have started to separate from the controller. It's like they use weak adhesive to attach the grips. Not only that but those nicely
tuned thumbsticks have already become loose and freely pop up and down in the controller. This isn't the kind of quality worthy of a $150 price tag.

I tried contacting support but it wasn't very helpful. After exchanging information they determined my product was out of warranty and any replacement would cost a pretty penny. They recommended that I just buy a new controller. That's unacceptable.

So I turn to this community for guidance. Have any of you dealt with this problem before? If so, could you help me get a replacement?

I am in same boat & have seen many in same predicament.

My own local store have had none for months, so presumed that MS were doing a V2 for e3.

xbox store rep told me this wasnt the case and MS had to do a mass recall because of manufacturing issues.

This should be a easy fix for MS for customers forking out for premium producs.

Ive been with xbox 16yrs but after buying multiple special editions and premium accessories that have defects, over heating issues and then to be told there is no way to fix/support, its getting a bit of a needless expense and making me seriously reconsider
the brand.

Even my brand new xbox one x reformatted my external 2tb hdd on day of release >_<

 

The best thing to do with goods you believe are faulty is to contact the place of purchase and see what the warranty options that are available and go from there.
