Xbox One Elite Controller Problem

Hi there.

I bought an Elite Controller last year, which is out of warranty and I have this problem:

I need to use a standard controller to turn console on. Elite is not sync. While xbox is on I use charge and play battery and USB. Then Elite controller turns on and can play, however if I remover USB controller lose all conection. Cannot sync. Sometimes
I play for a long time and Elite can be unplugged and works fine, but if I turn off either console or controller, sale failure.

Since Xbox cannot repair and it is out of warranty, is there anything else to do? I do not want to throw it away, its not cheap.

So, I see we are the only two people with the Xbox One X that are having this problem. One question I have for you, are you using the Elite controller? It seems Xbox support has no answers except to power down, power up, reboot the router, make sure everything
is upgraded, on one leg and swing a rubber chicken over your head, etc... The only time I have this problem of no response is when using the Elite controller with the X. When I switch over to the standard controller I have no problem. If I use the Elite on
my Xbox One day one edition with the Elite I have no problem.

Unfortunayely it's a factory issue, i do not have this problem with my elite controller but 2 of my friends have it.

Hey there Ecks 20XX,

Does the controller work okay after it's connected to the console? Have you been able to test the controller with another console to see if the same issue happens? What about updating the controller, does the controller have any updates available?

Hi! Thanks for your reply and sorry for the delay.

1. Sometimes it works fine, mostly I have to play for many minutes after it works ok.

2. I have not been able to test it with another console. As son as I can I will tell details.

3. Yes, there are available updates however, as soon as I accept installing it stops and sends error. Make sure you controller is plugged and unplugged any other devices, kind of message.

It sounds like there is a possible hardware issue with the controller. It's also possible to update the controller through the Xbox App on Windows 10 though, have you tried that?

Here is a page with more info and steps on how to do the update. See if that lets you update and fixes the problem. Also, try another USB cable and USB port to see if that makes any difference.
