Xbox One elite controller problem with play and charge kit

Hey.

My new Xbox One elite controller is using play and chrage kit for battery. My problem is that with the elite controller, I only get 8hrs or less play time, when it should be close to 30 hrs.

I do not have similar problems with my Xbox one S- controller, that is using the same play and charge kit.

Do I have faulty controller? How to test if it works like it should?

Xbox One Elite contoller - play & charge kit drains too fast

Hello.

My problem is following: I bought new Xbox One Elite controller. I put my play & charge kit (battery) to it.

The battery should last 30 hrs. With my elite controller, I only get 8hrs of gametime before it dies.

I previusly had another elite controller with the same play and charge kit battery, had no issues at the time.

I also tested my play and charge kit with my Xbox One S- contoller, battery life is good.

So, problem is not the play and charge battery kit, but my current elite controller. I also noticed that it shut it self down in middle of gaming... Could I have a faulty controller? How to fix it?

The Elite controller is compatible with the Xbox One play & charge kit and also with rechageable batteries as you can see here (see specifications):

Over time the storage capacity of the batteries in the play/charge kits decline, as do any other batteries.

You can try swapping the two battery packs around between your two controllers and see if that makes any difference; if it does, at least you know it's the battery and not the more expensive controller itself.

Also, using a headset connected to your controller will negatively impact battery life, so there's that to factor in too.

I have not used headsets.

I do not think it's the play/charge kit battery, because like I stated before, the play/charge battery gives normal uptimes on my xbox one S- controller. The controllers firmware is also updated. I tried xbox console hard reset, no effect. Do you have anymore
suggestions about this or should I return the controller?

So recently i noticed my old play and charge kit was dying pretty fast and whenever i plugged it in to charge it would say it was fully charged already, which i knew it wasn’t. So i went out and bought a new one thinking that would fix the problem. Turns
out it doesn’t charge at all either. I don’t know what the problem is. The controller works fine if i leave it plugged in or put batteries in but it won’t charge with the play & charge kit for some reason.

Forgot to mention but everything is up to date, the console and controller.

Its an Xbox One X and a Xbox One Elite controller, a white one.

It seems u have a working controller.. May be the slot for the battery whuch supports play and charge kit isn't working and ur battery is not helping either.. If u have another controller try the kit on that and if the problem persists do send the controller
for repair ...

Pre order a play & charge kit that is the only problem I have with the xbox one I had to pre order a play & charge kit for the controller

I've been pretty lucky with my Xbox One play and charge kit. I've had mine since the Xbox One console was released and it works just fine with my Elite Controller.

Controller is not that old. Bought it back whenever the white elite controllers released. And yeah the charge kit works on other controllers but wont work on the white elite one
